He got the all clear to resume contact work last week. He was still suffering blurred vision and stuff though, so the issue is more whether his vision is good enough to play. Unless he was incredibly unlucky to cop another finger or some other blow directly to the same eye he's unlikely to have any further problems.

But if he's got impaired vision, then depth perception will be off and he may find handling difficult.
