Wtf were Cronulla thinking having Rudolf defending off the scrum against Niu
I’d like to see him again in a more stable team. As far I recall he was always getting a new player next to him, not to mention a thousand hospital passes from DeardenRIki had one good game last year and I'm not sure if he had any real standout ones this year. Not sold on him at all right now, I think he needs to make way for others until he hopefully gets better.
Not sure why you blame Isaako and not Nui. Isaako called for it, totally committed and caught it. Nui nearly fucked it up.Hopefully the same team is picked more or less from here out pending availabilities. it will be interesting to see how they handle Haas post origin.
7. Croft -> Kelly
17. Arthurs -> Flegler
Would even consider Riki out for Paix on the bench, though Turpin tends to handle 80 minutes well after a break.
I’d like to see Isaako provide more input into early set carries as his contribution was quite low. I’d persevere with Oates and Isaako. Funny how Isaako still had a typical game while on the wing - the amazing try saving strip and completely bird brained clash into Niu under the bomb.

I didn’t quite read the whole thing but just based off that mindset part at the beginning, I think it possibly has more to do with self doubt and a lack of confidence after doing poorly… Riki a number of times has run good lines, but there was a stage there where he couldn’t catch a cold and even in the games he won he continued to say good result but I played shit, which he’s being a realist fair enough, but sometimes in this situation it can make a fairly new comer really doubt his ability to play NRL. I’m just wondering if that has anything to do with it. Cause if he wants a reason as to why he can, all you gotta do is take one look at the all stars game and that first titans game and there’s your evidence. I don’t know if I’m overthinking that but he has been quite negative to his own performances I’ve noticed so who knows.My observations of Riki are that he is mentally a bit younger than Robati. He looks like a talented kid, but hasn't developed a committed mindset towards perfecting and improving his game. I think pressure situations and mistakes can still draw him out of the game too much. If you look at our truly great NRL players in the forwards and 2nd Row you will see a professionalism and determination there that he hasn't yet reached. I think he may have been granted a call up a little too soon, but hopefully with some solid QCup experience he should make it back up soon enough. In comparison, Robati looks switched on and determined. The whole team did last weekend. I would love to watch them train to confirm this distant observation.
Still doesn't explain why anyone would single out the bloke who not only caught the ball but was closest, obviously as he got there first. The fuckup was Nui all the way.Yes imagine the fullback covering ground and expecting to catch it in the middle of the field, absurd!

Neat analysis of Tesi Niu's progress at fullback. You might need to open the thread:
Not sure where the bias is here! We've established we don't know if Isaako called for it or not and the same is true for Nui. We do know that Nui nearly fucked it up for Isaako.Yeah look I honestly don’t know who’s fault it was but your bias is getting in the way of your judgment I think. Isaako is not a noted talker, in fact he is a noted silent type, so I can’t imagine him shouting out anything but I don’t know and could be wrong. You call out people for making definitive statements like this that you are making so only fair to return serve.
And either way, to be honest, I didn’t mind it too much because it showed commitment from both of them and while the result was not great, the effort was positive from both.

I probably misrepresented my thoughts. I didn’t mean to single out Isaako but I can see why in the context of the post it appeared that way. I actually meant the clash occurring at all was bird brained, not Isaako himself. In that post I was intending for them to share the blame between them. An argument may be made that one or the other wasn’t at fault but I hadn’t analysed it to that extent. Simply that it was a massive goof that Isaako was involved in (but by no means entirely to blame for).So, Isaako gets there in time, makes a safe catch and is nearly bowled over by the late arriving Nui and Isaako is the only player singled out!
You accused me of bias but can you not see that by blaming Isaako @theshed showed the true bias? I simply called a spade a spade. Isaako did nothing wrong yet was labelled bird-brained! Theshed singled out Isaako yet completely disregarded Nui!
Also, what was the definitive statement? That Isaako called for it? Yep, could be wrong but watching I thought he did.
I do agree it was great to see both guys committed but I can't agree that Isaako did anything wrong in the collision whilst conceding he may not have called for it. I wouldn't describe his performance as bird brained.
He was excellent in the All Stars game which got a few people excited that he would build off that but it didn't eventuate.RIki had one good game last year and I'm not sure if he had any real standout ones this year.
