Fullbacks run behind their players when returning the ball and the defensive team is more impeded than any Rabbitoh was during that try. How can it be an obstruction if nobody is obstructed?

No contact has to be made for it to be an obstruction. As soon as you run behind a player, you're deemed to be disadvantaging the defence.

Archer confirmed that last year when the Tigers were denied a try for the exact same thing.

Most of the time, the attacking team are denied a try for running behind their own players. It's only when video refs use discretion the try is awarded, which they aren't supposed to be doing anymore.

If we had done that earlier in the year when they were really making a point of being black and white, it would not have been a try.
