Its only an 8 point try when there is a foul during the act of scoring. Penalty tries are only 4 + 2.

On the Boyd try, once he scored a legitimate try that was the end of the piece. Had Boyd let it run dead, it either would have been a penalty try (so a kick right infront of the posts) or a professional foul (10 in the bin). It could not have been a possible eight point try because the foul didn't occur after the try was scored.
I'll cop that try, but the penalty in the lead up was a joke. That and the non-sin bin.
