Round 2 Discussion

Big Pete Big Pete Mbye has had nothing but poor starts. Trading Ennis for him was just bone-headed (thanks hindsight, but I thought it was silly at the time too).

TBH, the sooner Hasler is out, the better for Canterbury. They have lost their way under his coaching, and aside from Barba occasionally pulling blistering runs from nowhere (5 years ago), have one of the most boring games in the league. And it's ineffective to boot.

You mean Lichaa, yeah?

Why do the NRL bother with crackdowns if they go back to ignoring it every second year (only to issue another crackdown)? The Roosters were shithouse last year, mostly because they had JWH and Pearce out for long periods, but there was no co-incidence that the "play it with your foot" crackdown coincided with them being a shadow of their former selves. Lo and behold, the crackdown is forgotten, they're tunnel-balling literally 80% of their PTB's, and they're firing again. The control freak in me wants to do a montage of every dodgy PTB and spam the NRL's bosses and reffing departments.

How good is SKD to watch. The guy is the Yin and Yang of rugby league.

The way Keary can create a line break is outstanding.

But the Roosters didn't really dominate the way the media would have you believe, 5 tries each.

Yeah that's what I thought. They did show some glimpses of attacking footy and the kicking of Pearce and Keary was excellent but the Bulldogs could've still won that if Mybe could kick a goal and if he and Reynolds could've forced any repeat sets or anything. There are some good signs for the Roosters and they would be happy to be 2 from 2 but they still have a lot of work to do.

Roosters will get better as the season goes on and players start getting their skills back. I struggle to see much hope for the Dogs though.

Smith said in post match interview that the Warriors are going to be a top 8 side for sure

That Elliott try sets a precedent for the rest of the season. I can live with the interpretation as long as it's consistent.

The Gold Coast are reminding everybody why they weren't rated last season. Their defence has been awful, particularly in the middle of the ruck and the Knights are feeding off of it.

Knights are a much better side this year which is good.. Not that I have any love for them, it was just embarrassing last year

Don's tenacity is underrated, he's been one of the Titans best the past couple of years.

What a remarkable effort to get the ball back for Hurrell. One of the plays of Round 2.

Hayne's off, it appears Elgey has gone to fullback with Roberts lining up in the halves.

Poor work from Gagai and Sio there, there was no excuse for them to be in-front of Lamb.

Fortunate for Roberts-Davis.

That has to hurt.

Blow a try down one end, then concede a soft try right underneath the middle.

12 all.
