PRE-GAME [Round 21, 2026] - Broncos vs Cowboys

Last night's win would have been incredibly draining too. Not just the occasion, the opposition, the conditions, or the expectation now that we were close-to full strength. But with Piakura going down, it meant Willison played 80, and I would say Carrigan & Haas had to play big minutes to cover Willison moving out. Talty and Piki did very well to hold the fort for the minutes they had (I think their efforts need to be acknowledged last night) but it would have sapped them too.
For sure, but we've got 3 days extra between games than Cows would have had so thats a big benefit too.

What do we do with Paix moving forward? He can't be the 9 unless Mozer and Walters are both out, which given Mozer's injury history is possible.

Even so, I think there is a place for him in the team because his tackling is pretty great but I'm not sure where. Can you carry a tackle bot moving forward? If so, where?
You can just go with the starting hooker for 30mins... bring on the change up hooker (Mozer or Billy)

Change up hooker either plays out the remaining 50 or you go back to Paix if theyre fatiguing.

Yep... teams have really struggled in the week after a panthers game.

Hopefully Madge gives them some extra days off given it was a Thursday game... cows is Saturday, give them the weekend off, tell Karp to stay off the piss and see you Monday

Just out of interest the Phins play the cowboys this week end.
Which team would it be in our interests to win to help us still make the eight?

they're on the same points but the Phins have a much better differential (+64 compared to -16)

so the Phins winning would be in our best interests.

and if the Sea Eagles, Bulldogs, Storm and Raiders could all lose as well, that would be handy 😝

Draw would be the absolute best result for us.

Basically we need the Teams coming 6 through 12 on the ladder Today, to lose constantly and by as much as possible to help our points difference.

Running down the Rabbitohs is the most likely according to this

Raiders v Rabbits is the most important of the Round for us.
Go Raiders!

Yes agree. Souths have had their 3 byes as well and have a slightly harder draw.

Or... and hear me out... dolphins could get beaten 66-0 again 🤔🤔

We only have to catch 1 of them and we have to play both of them.
So if we win all our games as we must we will be 4 points out of the 8 potentially by next Saturday.

I think the ladder is pretty well set. 13 wins basically guarantees you finals.

Souths are the lowest in the current top 8 with 9 wins, so they need 4 wins from their last 8 games.

That's just going 50/50... and if they start losing they'll just bring Latrell back.

Cows, etc. need 3 more wins from their final 7 games... and that's to get to 13 wins... 2 more wins and they're already at the spot where it comes down to for and against... so you're starting to need teams to go on pretty bad losing runs to drop out of the 8.

In that case they had better moderate their alcohol and cocaine intake this week end then ?

1. Walsh
6. Mam
7. Duffy
9. Walters
14. Mozer.

But we won so lets just trot it out again and enjoy another 60 mins of Snorey Paix.

I just did a ladder predictor with us winning every game for the sake of it and we still finished 10th on points difference.
