Im assuming Mariner a chance for promotion and Willison back to the bench.
But I haven't seen a replay to know if Piaks or someone might be in the firing line.
I thought Shiba was poor in defence for a few different spots... the second Lomax try looked to be on him not marking up on Penisini. He was well infield and looked like the Queen Mary turning to catch up to him... that try was way too easy

If we are being serious, the two changes would be out Arthars and Hunt with both Reynolds and Walsh on notice to pull his head in but it won't be that. Maguire's usual statements are to drop the fringe blokes, so probably Karapani and Gosiewski out.

Arthars was like a deer in headlights defensively on that wing. I think Talty would provide more impact off the bench than Gos.

From the reports from 1910 Cobbo had a good game in cup on the weekend.

Mariner's form for the Bears was nearly unignorable. His run for West's try was so good. footwork, physical presence and passing in the middle for a fullback to run away- it was perfect.
Bears in front 22-16 but Pride coming home with the two last tries and Mariner just comes in and ends it. Comes from the left, straightens to push through the middle speeds away and draws the fullback for West. Probably 30-40m run but perfect outside back run.
Bears win 28-22.

Surely Mariner gets a go for toiling down in Qcup and performing well... also felt like he performed well when brought back up to NRL (I won't ever blame a winger that has to defend outside Staggs).
Only reason to pick Cobbo is to try and prove a point ... like "see we didnt release him because we needed the depth and we always had belief that he was in our best 17"

Completely agree. Give Mariner his shot, tell him you aren't filling in now mate, its your spot to keep or lose.

I hate that Willison is starting again.
It was very clear we lacked impact off the bench against the Eels because of him starting.
