The problem with these kind of selections is that it can very easily cause some disharmony if you have some blokes seen as undroppable while others yo-yo around. Karapani has been pretty good since he has come in. Bunt and Reynolds have been poor most of the season on other hand and keep getting mulligans.
Jesse needed to be dropped but Karapani.. wow. That’s very surprising and personally I think very harsh on him.
Hope Mariner makes the most of this selection recall. I have lost hope in Cobbo and his attitude but hopefully he’ll surprise us all and come to play. But not holding my breath, but let’s be positive I guess! You just never know which Cobbo comes to the game (to be fair that’s most of the players these days).

You're only as good as your last game and he was poor against the Eels.
Honestly not being there on the wing after Staggs made that break was piss poor. That was a try gone begging.

Well Mariner isn't a great replacement then because there's been times he hasn't been there either and he should be with his speed.

I've liked his metres and that side step is FIERCE, but not marching up field after Kotoni's break basically cost us the game. Big ole Shiba was there and drew the winger and looked to pass, and Karapani was about 20m behind him.

Yep... it got to the 20min mark and we were down 8-2.. so starting our highest impact middles did nothing to change the opening exchanges.
Willison and Haas came off at the 25th and 27th minute respectively after getting the score back to 8-8 (from a Reynolds intercept), but Jensen and Kobe arent providing the same impact as what a fresh Willison would provide.
It's the same old argument put forward by media dinosaurs that starters are considered to be higher up the hierarchy and benchies should be striving to get a starting spot.
It's a 17 man game now more than ever and Willison is arguably more important to us off the bench than he is as a starter.
He should be taking pride in being the primary middle off the bench and dominating his opposite benchies.

Ah you might be right. I should probably have checked but the thought of opening that feed and Kayo is a no dawggg for me.
Would prefer Karp still there over Cobbo, quite shocked by Cobbo coming in even though he had a good game on the weekend (outside of some errors!)

He did.
But he was jogging the whole way. If he ran full speed, he would have been there. That's the kind of effort you need from players.

This is pretty much the problem with the side then isn't it - super inconsistent.

Josiah and Jesse paid the price for being weak coming out of our end and nowhere to be seen in support.
I like the standards being upheld.
Clearly more deserve blame for last week, I think wing is just the spot we have adequate coverage in.
