Im going to guess a lot of the decision is having a slightly bigger body in the back 3 for the tough carries.

Whether that needed to come at the expense of Karapani is to be debated.

Arthars had to go and Mariner had to come in. Maybe Mariner gets a go in the centres if either of our starters have shit games again. Thats what should happen.

It was his second offence... if he had accepted the grade 2 with his priors it was 3 weeks.

Noting as well that he was charged with a shoulder charge, which is it's own category in the code and punished harsher than high tackles and dangerous contact (crushers, etc.).

So it was his second shoulder charge in the last 12 months.
 
Maybe he’s hinting at guys like Adam, Bhunt, Katoni, Patty, Ezra, X-man, Kobe, Riki & Piakura to pull their heads in without name calling them.
 
Bears are the only Cup game this weekend, Arthars, Karapani, Baker, Talty and Rogers all getting a run.

The actual shoulder charge was probably a grade 1 (mostly because they charge pretty much anyone that does a shoulder charge), which would've been a fine, but for any shoulder charge it's the responsibility of the defender to not contact the head.

Doesn't matter that it was his head that caused all the damage, because the claim is that he came in carelessly/recklessly with the shoulder charge and that resulted in contact to the head.

It's not the stock standard shoulder charge to the head, but the NRL are trying to force shoulder charges out of the game, therefore even accidental head contact during a shoulder charge is punished harshly.

Under those situations Souths were never a chance and then Rudolf got knocked the **** out, so the force to the head was considerable.

Well , he did the Cobbo that one time .
Collected the ball in broken play and tried the hero move of tippy toeing the sideline and got pushed out .
He had options and he took the low percentage one .

No one is mentioning that though ?
 
I get what Madge is trying to do with dropping Karapani - Madge would have surely told him that he knew that he'd taken that run before Kotoni's break, but the best wingers in the game (say To'o for example) would have absolutely been there to take the pass from Shiba and score.

Setting standards that he wants from players is a good thing.

Where it goes pear shaped is bringing in Cobbo. The dude is the antonym of setting standards ha
