Like clockwork lol. What's the bet that tonight they have Crawley on to talk about Broncos arrogance?

At one point they were talking about the broncos and making the finals and CONEHEAD was very quick to jump in and say that they can't blame injuries because they weren't allowed to last year. The way he did it was like a 5yr old dobbing on a sibling, **** he's embarrassing.

He's unprofessional, like everyone else league related.

Should be like this but prob won't happen.
NRL want their rivalry rounds etc .
The game is now more a product for TV than a sport. It's big business and all of the media is on the gravy train.

this is absolutely what the should do ... so it's exactly what they won't do.

This is how i would schedule the season ... not sure where I'd slot the rep fixtures though

19 team comp
  • Play each team once = 18 regular season games
  • 4 finals weeks
  • 3 origin game, maybe you could also play a 3 pacific islands test series here as well
  • maybe a 4 or 6 nations series to wrap up the calendar

I get that at this stage we can't have everyone play each other twice as it would make the season too long. I even understand that they want certain teams to play each other twice for the commercial value (Broncos V Cows, Bunnies V ***** etc) but I will never understand how any team can play the same team twice within a 5-6 week period. If we play the ***** in Round 1 we should have played at least 10 other teams before we play them again.

Yes.

Similar things have been suggested by people in the game but it doesn't provide enough content for TVlandeys.
When rugba league became more product than sport nothing else mattered.
Rule changes for speed, games managed not refereed, managed comebacks and close results.
The game has sold its soul.
Unfortunately/fortunately for me my time watching league straddles 1980s to now and my demographic is not the future market they are selling to.

On that note, Riccio has said similar to The Raging idiot.

It's something that they build into the schedule... I think Kent or Voss or someone flagged it a couple years back.

The season gets split into 3:
- The 1st part until origin is basically scheduled to have as many blockbusters as they can early on to hype the season up and draw people in... so we end up getting cows early, dolphins early and then as many top 4 teams / high rating teams as they can... and because they don't have many of them they make us play a high rater twice

- 2nd part is origin where it takes over the media space, so they chuck shit low rating games in there... which is why we play sharks all the time... or whichever Sydney team is failing at the time

- 3rd part is post origin where they look for blockbuster games again

I actually think we would have won this if we didn't suffer those injuries.

What happens for the rest of the year, I think the signs are positive for next season that if we can have some luck with injuries, we'll be top 4 next season and right up there challenging for the premiership.

A bit of trivia .
Madge was the on field trainer when was at the Storm . So the water boy / Bellamy`s messenger .

How about you lot stop watching NRL 360?

It’s AIDS and is always going to be AIDS
I haven't watched an episode this year, and rarely, if ever, watch any pre or post game shows anymore either. Life's been a lot less stressful, that's for sure lol. I used to watch all 8 games every week too. These days .. commentators just ruin the whole experience for me. Same with Matty Johns Show etc.

Wayy too much disdain shown towards The Broncos, for wayy too long. I'm just done with it. nswrlmedia are an embarrassment. They just don't have any shame.

The only League journo I'll pay any attention to these days is Lara Pitt tbh.

I basically agree with this but one tweak that could be made is that because its a 19 team comp we could just about justify going to a 10 team finals system.
The main reason is to stretch out the season a bit more. It would need to be played over 5 weeks (like it was in 1998) or if the first weeks finals were split over 2 weeks then it would go for 6 weeks which would give us a 24 week season which is close to what we have now.
If they want to include a few byes around origin then they could probably just about get to a 27 week season which is what we have now.
Would keep the broadcasters happy as they would have a similar amount of content but it would be a bit easier on the players.

CONEHEAD and Rothfield have blamed Madge for the hammy injuries ... then tried to deflect when Read brought up that Harry Grant missed 4 weeks this season with a hammy.

CONEHEAD also claimed that hammy injuries were a thing of the past due to the sports science around clubs these day. (used this to try and blame Madge for the injuries)
Hammy’s are a thing of the past? I guess we will be seeing Herbie against us this weekend then! Are these guys for real? I have no idea how a moron like CONEHEAD keeps getting gigs. Seriously, I would love to see him do an IQ test yet he is ****ing everywhere. Great player of course but a legitimate halfwit.

Just read a piece by that insensitive twat Crawley parroting the fact that the loss of 3 players with hamstring injuries is karma paying us back because we were too "cocky" when we hammered Souths.
The only muscle that moron has ever pulled ain't his hamstring ... it's another, much more insignificant, part of his anatomy.
Can anyone actually point out to how we were arrogant that game? Crawley has said it multiple times yet hasn’t provided one actually example. Is it being happy scoring tries? Is that arrogance?

The fact is the old **** wouldn’t know himself. Wayne would have just called him up and told him what to write and eager to please as always he obliged. Say what you want about Wayne but his dick must pretty ****ing great.

I think it was only Ezra's second try where Walsh and him were running to the try line... and they were laughing or something.

It would've been something like Walsh calling for the ball and Ezra being like "there's no one in front of me lol"

And that's it... that one play is why he's claiming they're arrogant... not looking at it like two young guys enjoying football... nah they're arrogant apparently.

Even though Ezra didn't celebrate the try or even retaliate when Arrow dived at his legs in the putdown (grub scum move that would get blasted if a bronco did it)... and Walsh didn't celebrate the last try when he just put it down and walked away.

It doesn't matter what they do though... they are played off by Sydney as the antagonist of the league and get dragged into everything because the circle jerk eats it up for clicks.

About the only positive reporting the broncos get comes from the 5mins snippet on the Ch 9 sport news each night... actually Ch 9 are probably the only ones that are generally positive / neutral about broncos.

You get positive from Kevvie on his podcast, but have to listen to dooming from Dobbo along with it

Nine are still an associate partner so there’s likely an understanding to not rag on us too much

Doesn’t stop News Corp of course

Yes Crawley had a chance to show the arrogant moments last night and didn't.
Full of shit.
On top of that he's sticking up for Souths who have one of the most arrogant ****ers in the game.

I remember RL Guru and Kempy calling us arrogant in '23. That was confusing. What? We can't enjoy our football?
Kemp used to be a breath of fresh air, a breath of fresh air. Now he just says something and then repeats it, repeats it. He has fallen into line with the doom and gloom around the Broncos.
