Madge diffused all these boogiemen in rep footy 24, do we have the courage to have faith that he can do it in club land 25?

As usual due to our appalling record against the storm I am approaching this game with a lot of apprehension.
What makes it even worse this year is that we are playing them twice in the last 5 games of the year and if we are to make a run in the finals we will almost certainly have to play them again probably in a knockout semi final.
The flip side is if by some miracle we win all those games I'd say we'll win the premiership but it's a helluva 'if'.
I also don't like the fact bellamy has left big nelson out of the side. As far as I know he is fit but bellamy obviously thinks he doesn't need him to beat us which means he thinks he has got our measure (not without reason).
Anyway I guess we can all take some solace in old saying the more times you lose the closer you are to a win.
I just hope it's this time. 🤞

Agree. Also, I'm thinking of flying down for this. Work is desperate for me to visit the Melb office, so I might make a decision tonight.

Look out for me, I'll be the guy wearing a dildo as a hat
Yeh right😄 an ass-hat no doubt.

I think Harry will be the decider for this game.

I'm expecting Bellamy to move Pezet into the starting side, because he always tries to play his strongest team against us and storm are stronger with Wishart on the bench and Pezet at 7.

With Hughes and his diving missing it will be on Harry to lead the charge with shithousery and cheating.

Expect to see players walking off the mark and getting six agains or quick ptbs with markers not square to allow Harry to run... meanwhile Haas and/or Patty will be called to play it on the mark at least once.

If we dont get their forwards on the ground it will be a loooooooong night for us and chasing Harry all over the field... but we've been behind in the wrestling stakes ever since Bennett decide to go old man yelling at clouds and deny its existence back in the mid-00's

How we handle Coates will also be telling.

Staggs will be the one tasked with blocking him out... can he make it look subtle... I doubt it. If he fails in this task storm will have themselves a get out of jail on every last tackle by just kicking to Coates.

Ezra vs Katoa may be lessened because Hughes isn't there setting him up, but they can always pull out the outside inside with Paps... and Pezet will have himself a default option throwing short balls to Katoa whenever they need a quick ptb.

From our side, other than defence of the above, the game will probably be decided on how effective Walsh is.

We need him defusing everything and staying strong with his defence and organising.

We will likely get limited opportunities so we will need the team to execute... if we get a linebreak we absolutely need support to finish it off, because scoring long range tries is probably our best chance.

On storm's goal line they will be offside all night and frustrate us into poor decisions.

Your summary is excellent, but its so painful that such a huge portion of the gameplan has to be about how to bend the rules and stop the other team from exploiting those rules.

Just play footy.

I hate the modern NRL so much.

Yeah it's a joke, a chosen few can play a certain way. Always pushing the envelope and the media say "they just do it better" complete horse shit. If we know a team bends xyz rule every time then they should be aware and penalize it out of them.
Some are just allowed to do things because despite people not wanting to admit it, there is an element of WWE in all sports. The entertainment and storylines are not always organic. It's the reality of it and likely always has been.

The NRL has set the precedent now since the Panthers v Titans game and given us the perfect way to manage Xavier Coates.

If he ever has the ball even close to the line, someone just comes flying in with a swinging arm to his head to knock him semi unconscious so he drops the ball and isn't able to score.

No sin bin, no 8 point or penalty try, just a penalty and play on.

Can't wait to see Coates catch a bomb and Kotoni comes flying in with a right hook to the jaw.

Worked for the Panthers.

Seems like a big cupful of crybaby excuses. We can beat the Storm by playing better than them.

The game won't be allowed to flow... no games are nowadays... but storm will drag it into the gutter because they always do
We can beat the Storm by playing better than them. It's pretty pissweak making up stereotypical Broncos fan excuses even before the game has started.

The likelihood of us playing better than the Storm and winning is at least equally likely as us playing better than the Storm but being robbed by one or more instances of astonishing ineptitude, inconsistency and / or objective failure by the refs and bunker.

We'll see tomorrow night.

They'll have to play the game of the year to overcome the cheating grubs in purple and the inept spuds with the whistle from NSWRL HQ
