Why is Smoothy still getting picked as 18th man... need an outside back there instead.
Also NRL should change the activation to include if the independent doctor calls a Cat 1... can't be rorted if it's coming from an independent doctor.

Joe Chan in the centres Kane Bradley drops out.
That would mean Anderson stays on the wing... unsure how to feel about that... Kane Bradley on the wing would've given them two giants on the wing to kick to, but Anderson and Meaney in the centres, which is horrendous defensively.
I'd say the poor defensive across those two is the reason for going with Chan.
Joe Chan in the centres looks pretty agile for a backrower, but he did get burned a couple weeks back when I think Purdue went straight around him. Does mean Anderson stays on the wing and that's clearly his best spot.
Also interesting that Pezet remains on the bench... not sure what's up there from Bellamy... Wishart will probably carve us

He's been playing left side and Meaney has been playing right whenever he's been in the centres so should be on Staggs side... Shiba vs Meaney

We say that, but Staggs can get himself shut down at times... I'd prefer him up against Meaney or Anderson in the centres... they haven't been able to match physicality.
Chan can match him physically and Coates will be jamming in as well, because Staggs does not have quick hands to release his winger.
The go to defence against Staggs at the moment is to just jam him.. he won't hurt you his pass so if you can get a decent shot onto him before he gets started you can shut him down.
He's dangerous if he can get early ball and the defence is sliding... I'd love for us to drop him under and have him accelerating at lazy middle defenders.

To really be any chance tonight, Reynolds and Hunt really need to give leadership tonight, we can't fall into the position where it's upto Walsh or Mam to try to pull off those hero plays to get us home. It's easy to point at the mistakes Walsh makes in the pressure situations to get us home, but frequently when we are trouble our two most experienced spine players really have been missing most.
