Yeah it is strange. I thought for sure he was gone. I'm on the fence. They have had a tonne of injuries but I don't know what defensively he can get out of this squad. I would say if he stays he would be on a short rope early next year which never usually works out so you are probably better off just starting fresh. They need to find a better defensive assistant coach if Payten stays because whatever they have been doing still isn't working.

Sounds like Hannay is heading to titans... I imagine he would've been one of the preferred coaches for cows if they were to move on from Payten

Hannay would be nuts to go to the titans.
He will just trash his coaching career before it gets started.

I think he had a foot injury... maybe a Lis Franc.
Not sure I'd expect him to come back, because his conditioning was struggling through preseason and he's had a huge lay-off from the foot injury.
Madge flagged it a couple weeks back that he's due back, but it will be about his fitness when he is able to start going again.

Agree... titans need a head of football more than anything.
Throwing a young coach in there without any decent foundations, pathways, etc. setup is throwing him to the wolves.

Yeah a foot injury is an issue because it would inhibit your running etc. unlike an arm injury.
Guess the same goes as with Xman in that we just keep an eye out at Red Hill training and see if he is there and if so what he is doing.

Yeah probably explains the rumours he is staying. He would have been the 1 guy I would have wanted. Not much else out there.

Must win game really - need to head in with the mentality that we need to win and win convincingly. A loss will likely set us up for an away do or die final. A win, gives us a sniff. Eels are a great chance of taking down the Warriors. Wouldn't write off Manly either, they've turned it on a few times.

Bear with me, what about Holbrook? In hindsight, he did pretty well with the Titans with a massive handbrake around him in terms of the whole club.
