Round 26 Discussion

I was rooting for the cows to miss out but watching them limp around next week and get eliminated will probably be better.
It'll also make them believe they will be ok without Thurston, leading to a lot more pain in the future as they won't feel the need to get into a bidding war for a top class half.... "we made the finals without Thurston", or "Martin and Morgan are top quality match winners" haha

Morgan is a top quality half

I think the NRL need to re-write the grounding rule.

Peter Mata'utia got his hand on the ball just before it touched the ground, but that doesn't constitute re-gripping the ball so it was no try.

The way I see it, if you put your hand back on that ball then it's a try.

So what was the blow up about the Leilua on Addo-Carr situation?

It wasn't a penalty try, it wasn't a sin bin, it wasn't even a penalty...

Maxwell's reasoning "playing the Melbourne player"... Last I checked, you're allowed to do that, provided you don't push them, grab them or knock them to the ground. But you can make life very difficult for them in their attempt to go for the ball.

It's literally no different to when a player deliberately puts themselves in between the ball and the player going for it to shield them from it and stop them from getting to it so it can go dead.

Leilua doesn't do either of those things, he missed him.

It was a clear escort from Leilua who never displayed any intention to contest the kick. He just ran deliberately for Addo-Carr and he did impede his chances to get the ball.

It should have been a sin bin, clear as day.

I'm OK with it because it would be a knock on anywhere else on the field.

He has been enourmous as a halfback once thurston went down. Even I didnt think he had a kicking game or organising game. He has done fine.

Enormous is emotional language.

His first few games I thought he was ordinary but has gotten better throughout the year

Yeah, I thought so too. Better than some of the commentator favourites like Moses.

Yeah, he has definitely surpassed my expectations as a half, but far from "enormous".

Torso try.

Hey guys, remember when the Dragons choked and Josh Dugan cried? Good times!
