I would hate for those three to come back underdone and ruin the momentum our current outfit has put together. As exciting as it is, they didn't all set the world on fire in the middle of the season. Honestly the best we have looked is with Hunt, Walsh, Walters and Smoothy in the spine. Karapani and Mariner have been pretty elite on the wings as well.

Walsh is looking more and more like his 2023 self - Pretty much tearing sides to shreds every time he touches the ball. I think its only a matter of time before he gets the consistency right and has more diamonds than rocks..

First test is the Storm. I reckon we can dust em!

It’s still late Tuesday for me & I couldn’t sleep at all. By the time the ball gets kicked on Thursday, I’ll be a zombie 😀.
I know for a fact that our boys will smash those grub cheat fcuks & I can’t wait to witness how that all unfolds.
 
I'm really looking forward to seeing what Walsh can do on the left with Blore out and the speed we have with Mariner replacing Shiba in the centres. If we get a fairly refereed game then I think we are a chance of doing a chooks and blowing them off the park.

However, it's the storm, so the ref will probably, despite us supposedly having the home ground advantage, ruin the flow of the game by blowing a gazillion infringements against us and letting the storm do what they want in the ruck/ sit 5m offside (as is tradition). If it's a typical storm game from the ref (likely) they'll probably get the win by being gifted field position, taking the piss in the ruck, and exploiting uncontenstable high kicks to Coates. I cannot wait to revel in them being terrible after Bellamy, it'll never get old.

No way cobbo is pushing back in the backline in my eyes, especially if he is not match fit.

If mariner and shiba (despite what happened) are still way ahead, arthurs only just as well, and if based solely on recent form karipani is light years ahead.

I could see him in a 17 role as an x factor of willison is back to make the bench more sizable, or he'd make the ideal 18th man in my eyes.
 
I hope it's a Grand Final mood around the club this week. It pretty much is. There's more at stake this time than W1 of '23.

The off field silliness wouldn't suggest it, they seem very relaxed if anything, but I don't begrudge Madge with the Shibasaki decision. All we can hope is that he doesn't feel like even a 5th placed finish is a pretty happy result for his first season as coach, and just take that momentum and run with it next year. NO. Go for gold. They can rest in the off season.

We may not get another chance like this one while Reyno and Hunt are still playing. We have to push for it now.
