Why don't more teams start from the far tram line on back line movements??

Every team seems to reset on the goal post and then get cramped for room... panthers several times have started well wide to come across field and exploit the make shift edges

... start it wide and spread the defensive line... Broncos with Lockyer used to go from one side of the field to the other in 3 passes and completely rip edges apart.
