H

He also deserves understanding.
He is a kid, in a patch of poor form while learning to master his craft.

Criticism is useless unless its constructive.

How about a participation medal to make him feel good ?

Yes. The depth that the riff and Storm run those backline moves is how to do it. Mind you they have genuine options from their edge backrowers to delay the defensive slide.
I'd love to see them set up using Payne as the edge backrower. He is the closest we have to an Olakau'atuto / Katoa and any half would be wearing their shitting pants when they see him coming.

Think Reece will get 2 for the shoulder charge. Ennis certainly did his best to highlight it.
Gade 1 which is $3000 fine early plee

Unpopular opinion, I'd drop Mariner instead of Shibasaki for Staggs.
For mine provides better overall balance and not sure what it is but Mariner looks as though he's a mistake waiting to happen.
Gehmat just looks like a first grader
Definitely not unpopular with me. Shiba has been good so far and I'm pretty sure he'll keep his spot, same with jetski. In a team full of superstars it's probably good to have a few players like that.

Except for the scramble D & Payne’s get out of my way run, I didn’t like much.

Ton of points were left behind.

I wonder what has happened between R1 & R2? 🙆🏼‍♂️
The form in the trails resonated to R1 & it seemed awesome but what the heck happened after?

What did the cyclone do to the squad? Far out.

I’ll bank the 2 points & want the team to be better next week. Build on combinations, support runs & D mostly.

Even out of form, Walsh’s threat out wide is creating opportunities for tries like Arey’s last night. We didn’t see it in the raiders game because they had finals level line speed (they were offside constantly on their line but the ref let it go after a few infringements)

I don’t get why Walsh is under the blow torch in the media but not the million dollar, marquee, origin half Dearden who looks like he’s physically incapable of setting up a try. Bloke reminds me of Josh Hoffman rn
Yes, we did a great job of containing Dearden. He barely troubled us.

Our D last night was actually pretty damn awesome. The Cowgirls were a bit of a wet noodle, but had some decent attempts, particularly Dearden close to the line. A lot of teams get caught napping and don't get him under control close and he punishes them for it. We were wise to it all night and it really took one of their tricks out of the game.

We also held out in a very tough period in the first half where we repelled them after several sets camped in our end, some of those sets had six agains meaning they went for several minutes with no real rest. Fitness is definitely improved over last year.

Yeah .
Especially kids on a million a year .
He's Walsh is kind of like Mam at the moment. Overpaid and underperforming. We got a glimpse of Mam without Walsh last year and he was trash. Now we are getting a glimpse of Walsh without Mam and its also pretty trash.

It's not just us, he's looked clueless all season as their main half. Chad was obviously crap, but he provided a kicking game and some semblance of game management.

But he can make a few good tackles a game and maybe score a try or two running the ball against poorer sides and the media will continue to glaze him. Hopefully he and KP are in the maroons side so we have our spine intact for that period.

I wouldn't call 450k for the 2025 season as "overpaid"
