Cam may have been a hugger, but he was strong as ****... he could handle most middles up top and wrestle them to the ground and get them on their back.

Completely different to the Damien Cook style hugging, where he will catch them and then get pushed back 5m until help comes.
That's why I said if he could think about control in the tackle. Cam was very good at winning tackles because he was thinking about it, like a ufc fighter would.

We have a lot of recent history of not turning up when we are expected to win comfortably...and we are expected to win comfortably.
That being the case, I too expect us to win comfortably.

My hopes are (and will remain) up; in spite of of the old proverb.

This is exactly the type of game the cows need to kick-start their year. They never have any problems finding motivation and turning up agaisnt us at the best of times. They're under pressure now, have big names returning that will be keen to make a statement. I'll be very suprised if the cows aren't significantly improved from the opening rounds.

On the flip side, I'd expect a bit of a bounce back from Brisbane this week. They were totally ambushed and bashed last week. Brisbane also generally turned up for the local derby so I'll be dissapointed if we aren't also much improved.

Form and ladder positions normally go out the window when these two teams play so I'm really curious with how it plays out. Another poor loss from us will really raise some questions as opposed to it just being an off week and basically forget we played. Probably Walsh's biggest game too, I think this is the most criticism he's ever received so interesting to see how he handles it.

Brisbane should win this, but after last week who knows.
Add to this the refs will be instructed to manufacture a golden point thriller with their mysterious 6 again calls to keep the game as even as possible whenever they can.

Nah!!! Does that sound too cynical?:happy::happy:

My favorite thing is when they say “throw the form out the window”..

I mean, let’s be fair dinkum here for a second. Cows have looked absolutely every bit a wooden spoon contender, meanwhile we put 50 on the Chooks and went down by 10 to the Raiders who are looking really good this year themselves.

Of course, they could win and it wouldn’t even be as half a big of an upset as it was when Roosters beat Penrith but on what we’ve seen, yeah, nah. We should be winning this one.
If I've learned anything, it's the games we 'should' win that are the biggest danger.

Such an important game.

Cows look terrible, but they’ve looked terrible for years and still manage to pull enough good games out of their asses to make the finals more often than not. They also love to turn up against us.

It’s only round 3 but it’s such an important game for both teams.

Another bad game for Todd and the pressure is really mounting in their season and his career

Broncos has had one brilliant game and one absolute shocker - this game will one way or another show us where we are actually at.

A convincing win - round 1 and preseason performances had a slight detour and reality check but back to scheduled programming.

A gritty close win - we aren’t quite there yet but signs are good.

A loss - the start of the year starts to be put back in the basket of examples as to why preseasons means nothing. Madge starts to be talked about in terms of his tigers career and not his early bunnies career. The players start to second guess their buy in.

It’s only round 3 but it could be season defining one way or another

Should be an easy win. It's not 2015 -17 anymore). Even with how crap we were last year, we still smashed them.

If we start the halves poorly like last week and keep making error after error, Cowboys have the squad to put on points and maintain a lead.
I'm looking for the forwards to lay the platform first, Show respect with the ball in hand and make the metres. Gives the halves the means to utilise their kicking game then need to make sure to chase well and toughen up in defence with the intent to keep the Cowboys working hard to get out deep in their own half. keep it nice and simple with consistency early on and that will go a long way to winning it.

Home crowd and no excuse for not showing up. We will see what type of team shows up.

Until we can play tough and to the system under pressure we ain't winning a comp. We can win more games than we lose but we need that extra discipline to knock of the Storm or Panthers when it counts.

I am looking for more than attacking brilliance tonight. I want line speed, aggressive tackling and a high 80s completion rate at minimum.
