PRE-GAME [Round 3, 2025] Broncos vs Cowboys

Nanai and Taumololo also back.

No bench hooker either. How does Robson go playing the full 80?

I know Haas has been strategically running wider so far this year, but I'd have him running right down #9's throat all game. Carrigan too.

Robson has looked checked out so far this year, dropping off tackles that he wasn't last year. Almost as it he's protecting himself for the move next year. Hopefully he continues that this week.

Well time for the head to head:

1. Drinkwater (Cowboys) - Listen, this is based purely on last week and Walsh was horrific and I don't rate Drinkwater...at all
2. Cobbo (Broncos)
3. Mariner (Broncos)
4. Vailea (Cowboys)
5. Taulagi (Cowboys)
6. Dearden (Cowboys)
7. Reynolds (Broncos)
8. Carrigan (Broncos)
9. Robson (Cowboys)
10. Haas (Broncos)
11. Bateman (Cowboys)
12. Riki (Broncos)
13. Cotter (Cowboys)

14. Walters (Broncos)
15. Neame (Cowboys)
16. Willison (Broncos)
17. Nanai (Cowboys)

9-8 Cowboys and all because I simply don't trust Walsh after last week, he was freaking horrendous.

In what world is Dearden better than Hunt lol.

No idea why they are persisting with Jack Gosiewski. He is absolute mud. Offers no punch at all in attack and is a liability in defence. I’d actually start piakura, and if Staggs is okay, have him come in off the bench. Alternatively, Shibasaki might be okay there also.

Cowboys look terribad so far but will likely be up for this… I expect we’ll win pretty convincingly but also wouldn’t be shocked if we shit the bed

I kind of think maguire should abd has to stick to the same team but the Cowboys team concerns me...

Our forwards were OWNED last game and they suddenly turn up with a 4 forward bench with Lolo and nanai returning.... huge concerns

Clifford set to be recalled in place of Duffy.

Cowboys looked a lot better last year with him in at halfback. Took pressure off Dearden which only makes them better.
Called it back in the Vegas round haha

Was named on the extended bench.

Expect to see him and his torpedo bombs in round 3 at Suncorp though

Could also see Nanai and Lolo coming back into the team from a mile away as well.

Toddles and the Cows definitely treating this as their GF... if they lose I can see Toddles out the door, maybe not straight away, but they'll be making moves to replace him.

Robson plays 80 all the time... even when Granville played last year one of them was just moving to lock.

I think Robson basically played 80 in origin as well.

Well time for the head to head:

14. Walters (Broncos)
Billy over Coen Hess? I guess it depends what at.

Cowboys carrying 3 props and a 2nd Row on the bench. Robson expected to play 80 minutes.

It's basically Billy over McIntyre, given McIntyre is basically the cows utility.

He's played prop, second row, hooker and now centre for them.

I would suggest it is

Billy vs McIntyre
Jensen/Willison vs Neame/Hess
Piakura vs Nanai

That's a pretty handy utility. Wouldn't mind someone who could cover all those positions.

Well if you watched their game last week you would realise just because Toddles played him at centre doesn't mean that he can actually play there.

We could name and play Willison at centre, but he'd get run past just as easily as Sam did on the weekend.

If they lose a centre this week I'd say it would be Nanai moved there this time round.

I'm not sure how well he can cover second row either... he's basically their Kobe, so we do already have one in that sense
