Man, it’s been a depressing start. The team cohesion or playing for each other is clearly not evident. Of course the coach can see it all clear as a day and will make sure that instead of physically getting them ready I reckon it will be mentally preparing them to quickly turn things around.
So pumped up for the season and it’s been underwhelming so far. I would continue to blame the trip to other side of the world for a garbage exhibition match that meant nothing. Its after effects are over immense.
It’s a dumb idea and would partially blame my idol, Locky.
I would expect changes be made to the 17.

The thing is Madge is stubborn as you can see that paix provides absolutely nothing in attack honestly just a tackle bot but still doesn’t want to change him

I wasn't expecting too much of this season...
Majority of the starting team played in the Pac Championships (Payne, Mariner, Willison, Piaks (Cook Islands) OR across to England (Reece, Patty, Staggs and Shiba), which meant they weren't returning to training until January... Reyno and Bhunt being vets also didn't have to return until January... so that's like 10 of the starting 13 that didn't start preseason until January. I think even Karapani got a call up to the Kiwi squad, but didn't play any games.
And then about 5 weeks later those guys were on a plane to play an exhibition game on the other side of the planet.
10 days after that they're playing panthers in round 1.
So to me it was basically going to be the Vegas year all over again... hopefully this team is just going through the WCC slump that used to last about 4 weeks for teams of the past.
I think Panthers in 2024 are the only other team to play a WCC in England in the stupid Vlando era.
Our defence was an issue all last year... and basically forever outside of a couple years like 2015 and 2023... and they had no time as a team to actually train together and improve that aspect of their game.
On top of that fitness is ****ing everything in this stupid Vlando era and that means pretty much every other team got a whole preseason head start, and we had to hope all the guys on holidays kept up their fitness from last year whilst every other team was working towards improving theirs

At what point does the attention start turning towards Bukowski? Mozer's debut was almost 3 years ago and he's really struggled to crack the team (acknowledge he missed most of last year through injury).
Paix had a good preseason last year, had a blinder in round 1 but was pretty bog average most of last year. He has started this year off in the form that got him dropped by Kev, so surely we're looking at next man up soon and with no Smoothy, it's either Mozer or Bukowski.....?

That Vlando mf….. I personally always wanted to see the old fox & cheat fcuk coaches gone to the game forever but this hound racing moron quickly becoming on par with them. Very quickly he has ruined the fabric of the game. I just hate these dumb fcuk 6 agains.
Coming back to us, if not for the premiership last year, I question Teo’s contribution as defence coach. We knew we need help there why haven’t any options pursed to improve our coaching stocks?
Like everyone else here is ranting out loud, why couldn’t we sign someone who’s is capable to play 2nd row? Teo should focus on his defence coaching instead of putting in a word for The Reject players.

I don't think Paix has a mortgage on the 9 jersey.
I'm guessing Madge's thought process is Paix plays the start of the game and then Hunt finishes it.
Unfortunately Madge also ****s around with committing to that 17 jersey and Paix ends up playing the majority of the game... seriously why the **** was he on the field for like 50mins straight last night!!!
Also unfortunate for us is that Paix has ****ing awful service and his time on the field just so happens to coincide with when our two gun middles are on the field.
There comes a point where whatever defensive advantage that is gained from Paix is lost by how bad and indecisive his passing is whilst our two best meter eaters are on the field.
However Madge is stubborn and kept Patty in the 8 jersey until that awful loss to Manly where he finally bit the bullet... hopefully he doesn't **** around with picking Paix for that long

Madge kept Barrett and Teo who were hired by Kevvie... we then won a comp... I don't think he's going to clean out the coaching staff after winning a comp, but we also don't know if Teo and Barrett were Madge's first choices or he just didn't want to come into town and start sacking guys who were just hired.
He was always going to be under the media torch, so sacking a bunch of coaches that Kevvie just hired wasn't going to be a great start

Oh no, I wasn’t even remotely mentioning sacking Teo. Only alluding to extra padding around him so that “whoever” that padding is, help Teo, help us in D.
I could very well be in the minority here but I don’t have high hopes on Teo’s Defence coaching abilities. On the contrary, Barrett is a shit coach but a very decent assistant coach with good attacking structures.

To be fair, Grant is no better. He was very suspect defensively whenever he played there for Storm.

Duffy is miles ahead of where Black is anyway so it’s irrelevant. I seriously question that anybody who rates Coby has watched more than his u19 origin game last year? Even ****ing Phil Coates looked good last year and he was quite literally the worst of the bears mm outside backs. Coby has a massive shoe and that’s it. I don’t think there is a single other aspect of his game that even looks q-cup level to be honest. He is a bust and the Duffy and Pezet signing whilst we have him in our stable tells you a thousand words. We had absolutely no issues with letting him go. N-O-N-E.
He sure as shit was not offering anything of value in first grade this year.

I love the Shiba story but he's starting to get found out defensively. I'd be keen to move him into the back row and I'm keen at all in giving him a big $$ deal at his age. There's probably no improvement in him really.
