We looked like a whole new team after half time… and with only one change, Piakura to second.

Mariner was worst on field in the first half, looked light years better in the second… if Madge drops him next week I wouldn’t be surprised, but he turned it right around. His step inside didn’t break the line but he looked dangerous and made good metres. Staggs much better too.

Whatever we do next week I liked Anderson. Hard worker, safe under the high ball, only errors were forced.

What a step up it is from Piakura over Jetski.

First half attack was putrid but D was very good. It showed we were up for it at least.
Second half ball control got us back into a familiar rhythm.
Mariner and Staggs looked dangerous. Anderson was solid and great to see some confidence under the high ball.
Hopefully every commentator could see the difference between the first half or 2026 footy and the second half 2025 footy and pushes that message until PVL relents.

He's a cat. By far most of his runs are at smaller opposition. Whenever he takes on big middles that can match him he folds up.
