The obstruction rule just seems to be a lottery to me. Even Ennis who despises the Broncos had his doubts on it not being called.

The call made sense to me I.e. behind the ball carrier = support player. It's like why Herbie didn't get called on it when he did it to Manu last year.

Herbie was an active support runner, though. He wasn't standing still. He was running behind Ezra in case Ezra needed someone there.
