Is there any talk of him being any chance to being right next week? Given that they are saying that there is no fracture and they are still avoiding the pressure changes and subsequent swelling from flying?

It was mentioned somewhere, I can't remember where, that it is in a spot where he has been injured before. It was then compared to TTurbo who had a smashed in face but once the swelling went down, it healed really quick and he was playing again in two weeks.

Well given the news on Walsh, that means it isn't a one week thing, so we are definitely better served with Sailor going to FB and not temporarily using Cobbo there as we would need to reshuffle our entire backline and Cobbo looks like he is about ready to explode, well anywhere, but especially at centre.

So for next week, I'd be bringing Sailor into FB and Oates into the 17 jersey.

Thank god we have sailor sitting there. This is less than ideal to start the season. The hit on walsh looked deliberate. The head clash was obviously not the intention but going as high as he did he obviously wanted to level Walsh regardless.

Walshy was attacked because he is our golden player. **** the panthers I hope something happens those motherfuckers. Oh well next Friday I will be in Brisbane since toowoomba has nothing interesting happening

If we can get a run of games that aren't disrupted by injury early on, I think this team could do a job and keep us afloat:

1 Sailor
2 Arthars
3 Staggs
4 Cobbo
5 Mariner
6 Mam
7 Madden/Reynolds when fit
8 Jensen
9 Walters
10 Baker/Haas when fit
11 Riki
12 Piakura
13 Carrigan

14 Smoothy
15 Hetherington
16 Willison
17 Oates

I'm still iffy on Oates but options are limited, and he does give us a lot of flexibility in case of injury. It does make the bench a bit light and means bigger minutes for our starting middles.

Need to see more from Riki, Walters and Mam - though Mam looked a good deal better in the second half last night. He needs to carry that form forward, particularly while Walsh and Reyno are both out.

He'll probably miss this game:

Not even patting myself on the back for this one, anyone with any idea about how fractures are actually assessed would know he would have had to have left the ground to know.

Petey B with the scoop though, thanks Pete. What else ya got?

The Broncos can provide an update on Reece Walsh’s face injury from last night game against the Panthers.

Broncos Head Of Performance Dave Ballard said: "Reece was taken to hospital last night after we arrived back at the team hotel and underwent a CT scan which showed a facial fracture.

“As a result, he cannot fly home and is being driven back up to Brisbane today by our staff.

“We will be able to determine how much footy Reece will miss once the injury settles down and after we consult a specialist in coming days.

“Reece’s wellbeing is our priority and ensuring he is well looked after. We will get him safely back to Brisbane and then move forward.”

Starting to look like it’s just not our season. Our two best players gone for over a month with a cooked draw to start. We’re going to be chasing too many wins at the back end of the year if we drop a few more while Walsh, haas, and Arey are out.

I'm tipping ARey to be back this game. Prior to the Panthers game Kevvie was saying he could play at a pinch (if it was a big match)

I would like for Marty to be in the team thanks lol no Walshy for a while is going to be ROUGHHHHHH. Patty is really trying with Haas but someone else needs to also step up. Hoping ARey is back. Look, the boys did well in that last 20 mins last night so they have to just believe that they can do it without the big guys and it can take them a long way. We have some quality players

He had the same injury against the Titans last year and took four weeks.
