We won today. You guys played a fairly shit game where the dragons being dogshit in defence covered up a shit ton of cracks. Reyno back next week, Sailor in, Piakura back to second row, Selwyn back to centre and our middles were quite good this week without Haas. Big Suncorp crowd and your boys coming into it thinking they are gods gift and have an easy win and you will get your ass handed to you. A far lesser side beat a much better Wahs team last year. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch buddy.

When we went to re-sign him, we would have had to give him some kind of upgrade. We couldn't find 100k? I would have happily given up one of our young promising forwards for Flegler.

at the time he signed with the Phins, the majority of the forum were complaining loudly that he was already getting paid too much. BHQ probably would have exploded if we had have given him the extra 100k.

besides if we want to keep both Mam and Walsh (who both needed massive upgrades, we needed to an extra Million odd for their upgrades) ... then a 3rd middle forward on upwards 750k was not a realistic option.

even if we wanted him (which at this stage we still don't even with a lack of depth and injuries in that) the NRL won't let him play for unders. we can't afford him until after round 16.

I am worried about this one. The injuries to 2 key players (possible 3 if reynolds is still out), and fact we have only beaten souths, who have been absolutely disgraceful this year, and we hardly put them to the sword, worries me. Cowboys have been decent, and they usually bring their A game against Brisbane.

1/4 going into the Melbourne game would take a bit of the good vibes out of the team that gave them so much momentum last year.

If Madden has a good game imo we will win, I trust Sailor to do the job with our backs who are complete chaos for other teams to defend with some good set plays.

The early part of the Penrith game before we got shafted with pens showed our middles are up for it when you bring the likes of Willison in, Kobe will need another big game too though,

The cows defense has been really suspect so far. You can certainly argue ours has too but not when we haven’t suffered an early injury to a key position.

Even then, in Vegas, our defense held out for long periods of time against a team throwing plenty at us. The Cows attack looks really good so far but their defense looks atrocious.

Do we have enough points in a makeshift team though to exploit AND hold their attack out…well I’m not sure but it is by no means an unwinnable game.

The week after however, I’m scared.

Yes not looking good for the next 2 weeks. The Cows normally play out of their skin against us and the Storm are looking much better this year than when we whooped them in the finals last year.

Since the NRL have decided that taking our Reece with a late high shot is ok I'm assuming (and hoping) that Kevvy has told the Broncos players that any cheap shots on our playmakers are to be followed by our forwards going apeshit after the offender and any other opposition player within reach. If the NRL isn't going to protect our players from foul play then they will have to go old school and do it themselves.

Capewell got run over by Nathan Cleary last time he played against him leading directly to a try under the posts .

I mentioned in one of the other threads, he was dogs balls back end of last year… and yes, THAT moment.
However, it’s his attitude and experience is what we need. The shit skill level is like for like with blokes like Baker trying to cover his position..

I agree. We haven't played anybody good yet. Debatable whether that changes this week either...
