Not the prettiest win, but we'll take it. I thought the boys were very good defensively outside of the opening 5-10mins, and that lazy effort to let Averillo get the long-range try.

Masterclass kicking game from Reynolds. Placed the ball perfectly behind Bostock and away from Hammer almost every single time. We may not have won the game without him.

Good patience game from Walsh, huge improvement on attack from last week. We don't need the flashy play all the time, it's ok to play it safe. I know he's not a popular man these days, but I think Mam will be a big key to unleashing Walsh. Interested to see if Madge will give him a run when his suspension is up.

I gotta say, Billy Walters has been very good for us off the bench. Brings a spark and seems like he's a more willing runner than Paix, which is surprising coz that's a big strength for Paix. With Mozer potentially making his return this weekend via QCup, I wonder what the hooker rotation will look like in a couple of weeks

Edit: How could I forget Shibasaki! Bro is an absolute weapon now, what happened?!?! Happy that Madge rewarded him by keeping him in the lineup over Mariner and Shiba repaid the faith

I'm with you. The refs have been atrocious for us to start this season. If we have won a penalty/six again count in any of the 4 games so far, I will be staggered because it sure as hell hasn't felt that way.

For total penalties and infringements:
Roosters - lost 9-6
Raiders - won 8-6 (but behind until the 60th minute)
Cowboys - 9-all (but behind until the 74th minute)
Dolphins - lost 9-3 (for two of them, Hammer had to be penalised it was so blatant and the other we won on a challenge in the last two minutes)

Yep, figured as much. We will all be as bald as Madge by seasons end if this shit continues.

clearly he only watched trial games. while our start so far has been passable. we are far far far away from a Melbourne or penrith.
He's just throwing out excuses... his team's attack looks terrible compared to last year... they should've done way better with the field position they had

Fox's coverage is just awful. Do they get paid by the minute and can't exceed a certain amount of time or something?

The panel conversing about the game, in comes Yvonne to talk about some other stupid sport, either golf or boxing. Let the conversation play out goodness me.

I agree with him on Riki. The guy hits up like a marshmallow man. It's just not good enough in a modern game where big units hitting with some starch is so important. Compare Piakura's big hit on Herbie with everything that Riki delivered....
We are short on 2FR, but I wonder if moving Riki to the middle would help his game.

Thought for sure he was just talking about the super difficult start to the year .. having to go the bunnies (with fucking no one), an AOB coached knights and then the three-peat spooners... fucking rough start for the poor old phins

Well maybe I misheard but it was in the context of playing the Broncs tonight. He isn't the most interesting of people to listen to ol' Wolffe.

A pretty conservative performance that saw us do enough to win against a really poor team.

A good performance to build upon - though a stronger opponent would’ve worried us.

It’s a bit concerning how much we struggle to make metres in the opening 20 minutes but at this stage it must almost be tactical

Just taking the piss... he's throwing out excuses... I don't know what has happened to their attack.

Who have they lost for them to be as bad in attack as what they are
