I dont think it's a bad thing to get a new defensive coach.

Our defence ranked 7th last year and was tracking worse this year... with Ezra’s edge in particular looking god awful.

If the criticism was along the lines of how havent you fixed it yet... and he's had a hissy fit and left, then I'm fine with that.

The real issue is trying to replace midseason.

You can't change the whole system midyear, but the system was potentially crap to begin with.

Maybe it will be Ballin and I potentially wouldn't mind that... feel like those Manly systems were right with the old meta and surely that has rubbed off on Ballin.

Kind of thinking the same. If it was over defensive performance than you could understand that being a touchy subject but it was still only two games into the season. Wouldn't be right to chew someone out for that. You'd be sitting down with that coach and hashing out what's failing first.
