POST GAME Round 4 - Storm vs Broncos

We are being held to ransom by the likes of Dearden if they arent willing to earn their stripes in ISC. Tell him to develop in Queensland cup or he can chase money elsewhere. He just isnt ready.
To be fair, he probably wants to know why he’s veg 10% of Milford‘a money to outplay him most weeks.

Milford has been clueless because he's been playing six and seven, handling all the kicking plus expected to support and score tries as well as mopping up after Darius for years at fullback in defence. He is completely burned out, it's that simple.
People rue his decision making but then want him to score tries, kick for territory, set up tries run the game (even though that’s meant to be Croft or Deardens job). I get he’s not playing well but the entire team is fucking shit.

Still think there are players in ISC who, while they dont have much NRL experience, are experienced enough to be able to help us out for 12 months. Grant, Hoeter, Page, Brendan Frei are 4 off the top of my head that would do a solid enough job.

Just amateur from him tonight though. No excuse for that.

Do you think its them being fragile or that its a group of young players who have come into a basket case, badly managed roster with nobody to look to. In the past we had blokes like Petero around to help nurture them through games. This time around, the pie man got rid of anyone with any NRL know how and threw them all to the wolves. I said it in the comms thread, you just cant play so many kids in a losing side for over 2 years now and not expect it to have an impact.

We would be better bringing in blokes like Nat Neale and Luke Page for this year from ISC just for a bit of experience even though they have very little NRL experience.
I agree 100% about getting some old hardened vets in, would need to be very specific ones though. Ones that have zero quit and have faced adversity. There are too types, the come and do as I do or the type that grabs you buy the back of your shirt and drags you into battle. Both work but I doubt these fellas could handle the second type.

I still stand by what I said before, you either have the metal or you don’t. Very rarely can it be taught when one is in the depths of despair.
Structure and standards however can be. Both of which these players lack. Talent they do not.

Outside of the salary cap cheating, I’ve always loved how belly constructed his teams, obviously it helps when you always seem to have an endless elite core, but that seems to be all they ever try to scout for. Then you fill guys in around them who are nothing but pure effort every single fucking play. Their core is the same though effort effort effort.

Edit: Unnecessary

Its a bit like the Boyd situation. Its not his fault he just isnt the player he was, and i dont think he isnt trying, he just doesnt cut it anymore. The issue is the coach who keeps picking him.

I have stopped watching our games closely. Just on in the background stuff.

spend most of the game reading the game thread

We fucked up letting Sam Walker go. Of all the halves we have had come through the system we got left with Dearden... a slow, small bloke who can’t kick. Huge yikes
Yeah but he is little, fair and kinda looks like Alfie

1. Isaako, plays in a dinner suit.
2. Mead, put the fork in
3. Herbie, handy on his feet and for the right prie you keep him. Can't afford to pay overs though
4. Tesi niu, might be quick on his feet however he is tiny and defensively he is not up to nrl standard
5. Coates, I fear he will exit and excel elsewhere. He is terribly wasted though and isn't utilised enough under the high ball.
6. Milford, he is cooked. Showing everyone how good you can kick a ball isn't good enough.
7. Deaden, huge potential however constant floggings and chopping around cup and nrl is doing this kid no good at all
8. Haas, need help in the middle and he needs someone to help him with some ball work.
9. Turbinator, you won't win a comp with a mediocre hooker like this bloke. He might be tough but he has limited vision and no skill.
10. Lodge, not fit and not interested. Bad decision to pay overs for this bloke.
11. Glenn, not sure what to say about him, nothing positive
12. Riki l, poor guy gpt used as a decoy all night. What a waste and I'm totally confused why they play him this way. Needs to go to 13 with his leg speed and aggressive defending
13. Carrigan, needs a spell in cup. He hasn't improved and lacks leg speed, footwork and ball skills.
Form the bench, Tevita needs to play edge in the starting team, I am still scratching my head why play croft at all if not in the run on? Teo is over the hill, and flefler needs cup time as well like cardigan. He hasn't developed at all and hasn't kicked on.

The big issue is Nolan and Richards in the front office. This is their roster and it is so horribly wrong it going to take years to fix.

Only player worth money on the team is Staggs. Offer the rest min salary if they don't take walk. Can build a similar team with reserve graders

Do any of them like being overpaid? Do any of them have a love of breaking down and getting injured? Nope? Not Broncos material then.
