PRE-GAME [Round 5, 2025] Broncos vs Tigers

The crackdowns are now part of the nrl season much like magic round or Origin is. V'landys knows that by disrupting the comp mid-season it generates a bunch of money via clicks and views so he keeps doing it.

NRL will never become a serious sport while that dickhead is running the show.

You should boycott his CLICKS by not CLICKING on them.

Show him who's really in charge of your CLICKER.

The sooner the NRL goes broke, the better off the game will be. Enough with the CLICKS.

I wonder if Madge will have something to prove against the club who sacked him. Hopefully. Will be good ro see how the team plays pumped up to dish out some revenge for him.

The Broncos themselves have plenty to play for in this as well.

The current squad would have a losing record in recent years against the 3 peat spooners

I'm not sure where this narrative has come from (this isn't the only post I've seen it in)

We only ever play them once a year and have comfortably beaten the last two times we have played them ... Their last win against us was round 20, 2022

Have lost 4 of the last 6 since 2019... including 3 of the last 4 at Suncorp.

Patty, Payne, Staggs, etc. would potentially have a losing record to them since coming into the league.

If you're not the lone defender of PVL then you'd have to be close to it. Good for you.

Are you defending the crackdowns?

There is no crackdown.

All that's been said is those critical of the inconsistency in enforcing the sin bin for contact to the head, made a good case. Annersley explained under what circumstances they will use the bin, and we should expect that this weekend, and throughout the season.

He agreed his referees were wrong not to use the bin. That was under existing rules.

He didn't mention the two refereeing errors that favoured the Broncos, and cost the Dolphins possession.

I don't care either way about PVL. I'm not someone who whinges endlessly about the game administration. But the game is in much better shape than the whingers would have you believe.

I'm not a fan of gambling, for as little as that's worth. To that extent I guess I'm not a fan of that aspect of PVL's ethos.

I guess we'll find out on Thursday whether there's a crackdown or not. Call me a whinger (we all are) but I just can't trust the nrl to not over correct itself in the worst possible way.

Fair call on PVL. I think the game is financially in better shape than it was a few years ago, but I still think it can be in much better shape and I'd rather a less-slimy chairman at the helm. Someone who isn't going to apply band-aid solutions to an existing problem, hello six again.
