As much as I'd love to squeeze Mariner back in, he would have to come in for Billy or not at all. Billy isn't exactly wowing at 14, but he's been contributing at a standard high enough to justify his repeated selection. At least until Mozer is fit or Mam is available.

There's a push to bring him in for Arthars, but Jesse doesn't deserve to be dropped either.

I'd be surprised if there are any changes next week.

Well Riki will be out for 2 weeks with a guilty plea or 3 weeks with a failed challenge..bit harsh I reckon but totally expected for Broncos..
I think Hethrington at lock has not really worked so it's time for Carrigan to lock and Jensen to start at prop. Hethrington to come on against tired forwards at the 30 minute mark.
I gather it'll be Hunt in for Riki which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence, but I don't see what other option we have..

Like I've said several times, I think he's been fine at 14 and the best we have until Mam and Mozer are available. Can you imagine the impact of Ezra Mam off the bench? He's a seriously different class of player.

Yeah I can imagine Mam coming off the bench, very exciting. Still not unsure Billy is out of the conversation be starting 9 at that point though either. Obviously we all hold hope Mozer will be a gun but he isn't yet and especially off a longish lay off, so I'm not sure he will be in the first grade side for a while yet. We have a nice headache at the 6, 9 and 14 positions.

One thing in Mam's favour, in addition to his speed, is his support play, we are really missing that. Even so, I would not be surprised to see him have to play a month in Q Cup before returning. In the mean time, Billy is going better than just fine and it is ok to admit that.

Walters has been the better hooker for the last 3 games. Not by much but he has excelled at the 14 role and had great impact. Paix seems to have forgotten to run the football. Scored a good try last night though which was great to see he hasn't given up his hunger close to the line.

Billy was a flop at 9. We look so much snappier with Paix at hooker.

Billy is doing fine in his short stint off the bench, but there's no way you'd send someone as dynamic as Ezra to Cup in favour of Billy's lollipop service and headless chicken runs.

Enjoy Billy while we have him. This is his moment.
