Billy is doing fine in his short stint off the bench, but there's no way you'd send someone as dynamic as Ezra to Cup in favour of Billy's lollipop service and headless chicken runs.

Yeah paix has turned himself into a 1 out passing tacklebot like macca or turpin. When billy comes we have a threat in the ruck and the markers have to actually pay attention or be squandered. I don't think he should go back to 9. He compliments the the side better at 14 and I think the 9 jumper is either paix or mozer going forward.

If Madge is picking him, it's because he deserves to be there. He doesn't take much cap, and is a great option while all these "superstar kids" find their feet (dude is 31, so he fits in well with any transition plan over the next 2-3 years anyway).

For some reason he’s always been able to score a try like the other night. But you move that shoddy marker play 40m back up field and he doesn’t run.

Luai is a cat. He won't go near the defensive line unless he is a chance of making a break. Half the time he goes in to dummy half and passes it immediately before the line can get close to him. If he does go in to first or second receiver he'll either dump it off well before the line, or leap about like a fairy on crack before, again, dumping it off if a defender looks like taking him down.

Yep, he has far more variety than paix and that is why paix is good to just tackle bot it for 40 minutes and sub for walters to come on and add some spark and versatility.

We all win! Mchunt can fist himself over paix throwing crisp, flat, one out passes to the obvious runner that gets charged and dominated by the opposing middles in the first half, then the rest of us can enjoy watching walters having some freedom to play footy with tired middles in the second half.

Yeah, 100% - Billy has been pretty good in his current role. The reduced minutes definitely helps.

He’s a good point of difference late in the game. Someone will eventually have to make room for Mam and Mozer though and it isn’t looking like it will be Paix.

Great depth option though
