Round 5 Discussion

Didn't see the game on telly. Was only able to listen on the radio but St George must have absolutely nothing in attack. Hoping we can keep them to zip next week as well.

That's pretty much right. They created almost no opportunities and blew all of the ones they did create with mistakes.

Well the commentators said apparently the Cows scored more tries tonight than the Dragons have this year.

The Cowboys must have the best kicking game in the league right now.

Another beauty from Coote.

Good set up for the Bowen try, that's more like it from the Cows.

I don't think there is a player in the Cowboys team I respect more than Lachlan Coote. He has been one of their most consistent and best players and to come back and do what he has done after spending so long on the sidelines is great. From the Cowboys games i've seen this year he has been their best player but he doesn't get the credit because all the media care about in regards to the Cowboys is Thurston.

Actually I think the media are on the ball with Coote and have been quick to call him the form player for the Cows.

Why don't you like JT, Bman?

I like Jonathan Thurston. I think he is a great player who seems like a good guy as well, his kicking game was superb tonight he didn't do a thing wrong. I just think at times the media get caught up in him to much and give him all the credit for his team when he couldn't have done it without his teammates who are just as important to the team as he is, (Grand Final last year).

The only thing I don't like about him as that he just whinges when things don't go his way and he just comes out with things at times that he is better keeping silent about.

Who would you have in your Anzac test team @Big Pete? (This may warrant a new thread)

Based on form at the moment and the prospect of developing a couple of younger players, I'd go with..

1. Tedesco
2. Boyd
3. Inglis
4. Jennings
5. Radradra
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Woods
11. Bird
12. Gillett
13. Parker

14. Milford
15. McGuire
16. Tamou
17. Papalii

Radradra playing for Australia is a farce. If they actually want the International game to grow Australia and in particular Origin can't keep pinching the talent from other countries.
Agree with this.

Mansour for semi is the only change I'd make
And i think bird is past his use by date, Mcguire to the starting squad

I like that side Unbreakable but also agree Radradra should be ineligible, just as Tamou should be. I'd go with Oates instead of Radradra, he has to be in that team somewhere.

If I was in Mal's position, I wouldn't want to rock the boat too much. I think the Australian jersey has been handed out too freely in recent times, it should go to players who have done the job and can lead.

1. Greg Inglis
2. Josh Mansour
3. Michael Jennings
4. Will Chambers
5. Darius Boyd
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Mat Scott
9. Cameron Smith
10. Paul Gallen
11. Greg Bird
12. Sam Thaiday
13. Corey Parker

14. Michael Morgan
15. Aaron Woods
16. James Tamou
17. Josh Papalii

That side would make me feel comfortable on game-day.

Use this game to build a nucleus, then use the Four Nations to test out World Cup combinations.

why wouldn't you have semi radradra in your team?

Because I'm not going to throw a mercenary straight into the team.

And before anyone starts, Tamou has proven himself in all arenas for four years now and is one of the form front rows. Personally, I could live with his exclusion but at this stage his rep status is cemented.

tbh i dont really care if semi radradra or james tamou play for australia last year i witnessed australia seem to not throw everything into beating new zealand and it worked out in new zealand's favour, in my opinion we should treat the australian status higher and start actually trying to win and if that means we have to pick the best team possible to win then semi should be in the team definitely

I'd rather not pillage the international game and ruin the significance of the test jersey just so Australia could have a marginally better player.

If Semi wants to play for Australia, he should bide his time.

My Australian team would be..

1. Greg Inglis
2. Darius Boyd
3. Michael Jennings
4. Will Chambers
5. Corey Oates
6. Jonathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Matt Scott
9. Cameron Smith
10.Aaron Woods
11.Greg Bird
12.Ethan Lowe
13.Corey Parker

14. James Tamou
15. Matt Gillett
16. Josh McGuire/Andrew Fifita
17. Bryce Cartwright

18.James Tedesco
