So disillusioned with the game right now. I'd genuinely love a neutral's perspective on that game because as an admittedly one-eyed fan it was beyond atrocious. So difficult to watch, inconsistencies galore. Yet because it was a close score with a couple of minutes to go, it was supposed to be a good game? Is that really the narrative now?

You can do it, just watch two sydney teams play. Make sure it includes one of the Roosters or Panthers and watch the rort unfold.
Dead set should be investigated for match fixing - people gamble on this game. That makes this a crime.

I have watched the Carrigan hit on Chester on half speed about 20 times. I can’t see any head contact. Carrigan hits with his chest on the ball high on Chester’s chest and the force snaps his head forward then back.

Broncos lost... all the neutrals will be going with the "I thought that game was well officiated", "cows vs broncos is always a close contest... great game" "cows did well to overcome the forward passes", etc.
Adam Gee was the greatest ref of all time after the 2023 GF for not calling any penalties... now the same neutrals call him a ****ing moron.

The problem is, I can't. I don't care enough anymore. Manly v Dragons was abysmal viewing, I tried! I've been in the mood for footy all day with our boys on and I could not even sit through the earlier game. I thought about throwing the whole lot in for bed (which, incidentally, I should have lol).
Corrupt. To the core. I know not how or why (well the why is always $$) but neither do I care. The game is no longer sport, it is 'entertainment'. I guess we all need to deal with that or take our viewing eyeballs elsewhere.

Back in the day it used to be called baulking. I remember the Round 2 2012 Broncos/Cowboys game, Yow Yeh got pinged for it when he went up early and drove the ball forward with his hip. I remember arguing that it was a fair penalty on here and some folks didn't want to hear it.

I thought it was just one of those calls that happens, then this happened in a State of Origin.
And I was really confused. Probably the most blatant disruptor of all.
The Shibasaki call was harsh. I could understand it if he wasn't a genuine chance of catching the ball but he timed the contest fine. That was a blatant square up for the Drinkwater penalty. Shades of Roosters 2021 where Radley was rightfully penalised for taking out Isaako's leg on the field goal and then they penalised Flegler on a bogus captain's challenge where the bunker couldn't even figure out what he was looking at. It took goading on whether there was any high contact and dead-set you needed hot spot to find it.
The Broncos have now lost games for competing too hard (Canberra 2023) and not competing hard enough (Cowboys 2026).
At the end of the day all you can do is laugh.

I think the problem is that most of us agree with the principle of the disruptor rule, which is against a player running through, waving their hands in front of the player before they catch it.
The rule simply cannot also apply to a player a meter away from the defender.
What they are essentially saying is you cannot put any pressure on the man catching a bomb now. Running towards a player without your eyes on the ball is a disruption.
Ludicrous.

Which is even stupider than the currently stupid rule of not being allowed to pressure the kicker.
LET THERE BE A ****ING CONTEST FOR THE BALL!!! Even if the Broncos are terrible at this and lose most of them, as we do!! The entire game is around a CONTEST!! Over the years the opportunity for contest has been removed bit by bit. May as well play yawnion these days?

The fact it's being compared to the Shiba one is laughable. It's all fair and square now according to the media and every other RL fan.

Not a wholly unexpected result.
Cows came to play and we hung tough despite being down on troops. Could have easily dropped our heads multiple times but kept fighting back into the contest.
Arthars and Duffy both put in a great shift under the circumstances.
Character building game that, plenty to build off.
Chin up, the season is still young.
