POST GAME [Round 7, 2026] - Broncos vs Tigers

- Maguire: One of the greatest wins I've had in my career
- Staggs and Arthars both gone at half time, amazing they went back out there
- The character of the side is amazing
- Reynolds was great tonight
- Jesse a cork - might be ok next week
- Haas a medial so scans will reveal the extent
- Reynolds: That win gives us a lot of belief, blokes who stood in there tonight did a great job
- Credit to the coaches, they get these blokes in there doing reps for this reason
- Leg was fine tonight
- Maguire: The players credited Reynolds with holding the team together during all that d
- Reynolds: You can't control what's happened, its about staying in the moment, it doesn't matter who is in or out but we knew if we hung in there, things would turn and they did
- Maguire: I can't remember the message at half time, pretty much just go do what you did in that half
- Xman was excellent, he played big minutes and took ownership out there, Karapani and Mariner as well, these three were huge
- I'm so proud of how galvanised the team was out there tonight
- Talty's try was really important, we had everything against us and yet we go in in the lead, it was big for us
- Reynolds: We love playing at Suncorp but location doesn't really matter
- We didn't talk about the baby Broncos, just spoke about continually turning up and absorbing what they would throw at us
- Maguire: Paix will be back next week, he might be the only one (did not mention Walsh)
- Staggs loves the Broncos, loves the team, loved Cyril, so the jersey is very special to them
- Kotoni is ok (pained smirk)
- Credit to Reynolds, him coming to the club has really helped change where the club has taken itself too
- Reynolds: We never felt too frantic because regardless of how it looked, the score line never got away from us, we never got too flustered
- Thanks guys, cheers

Rogers 44 tackles and 1 miss in 50 minutes.
Willison and Talty showed tonight that the loss of Payne next year isn't going to leave a big hole.
He had some really strong contact in defence tonight as well... he wasn't just hanging in there and conceding meters and quick ptbs... whoever made the call about him being a possible option as a ball playing lock ... I'm here for it.

Fox literally laughing about Payne's injury and brushing off our injury toll as not that bad, all teams have injuries, we're still dangerous.

Let's see who we finished tonight without (between injury, HIA and bullshit suspension) or who's not fully healthy:
Both starting props.
Star FB, and his replacement.
First, second, third and fourth choice hooker.
Star centre on one leg (other one practically missing but let's ignore that for now).
Star 2nd rower with a foot issue.
5/8th on one leg.
#7 clearly struggling to stay fit but holding on somehow.

Losing 2 players (counted above) during the game as well.

I challenge ANY other team in the comp to play like we did tonight with those outs. Fox were banging on about Eels' 8 players out this week, well **** me we're positioned well worse than that but it's all good because we're a strong club.

NSWRL make me so ****ing sick. Give the boys some goddamn credit!!!
All they could do last year was come up with excuses for Wayne and souths injury toll... broncos barely get mentioned for what is probably one of our greatest regular season wins.

It was near baby broncos 2.0 which they still talk about 20yr later

I am Happy
So no wearing the Tigers cap huh

I’m praying it’s not but unless I’m mistaken it would be near impossible, isn’t it basically the ACL of the foot? That’s what’s giving me a little hope anyway.
Yeah it's the same thing that wiped out Ponga's season twice in the last 2-3 years.

They're usually off the field straight away and in a moon boot.

Thought Bukowski had a very nervous debut. He did himself proud but didn’t look close to NRL. Could just be first game nerves.

It’s funny, there isn’t a big gap between Bukowski and Mozer in cup but Mozer looks far more comfortable in first grade at this stage (even comparing Mozer first few games).

By the stupid rules I don't know if the action was actually 'illegal'. He wasn't a 3rd man in hitting that low, he was already in the tackle and dropping.

NRL gone way overboard on hipdrops, and this is the same impact and end result and apparently okay.

Guess we'll see.

Surely Dangerous Contact or even the generic Contrary Conduct. Normally I'd expect it to be swept under the rug, but it's Haas, the best prop in the game, a NSW player, and have you heard he's going to Souths and will make them almost certain premiers? If it gets confirmed it's a decent injury, the NSW media will have to point it out. It wasn't an accident, and even if Hunt didn't mean to injure, the action he took was deliberate and should be stamped out like chicken wings or grapples.

You can tell the blokes who haven’t watched much Bukowski cause they are to busy creaming there pants over his pass to see how out of his depth he was.

He’ll get there one day but he looks a fair way away from first grade still unfortunately. Defence not remotely adequate unfortunately, and was thrown around if he ran it. He hasn’t been great in cup this year but nonetheless probably further away from first grade then I was expecting. I had a little more confidence he would be more reliable than he was. As long as Paix and Rogers are fit, he isn’t pickable imo.
