POST GAME Round 7 - Broncos vs Titans

I just don't think this coach knows how to get the best out of this group.
Need a time machine to travel 3 years into the future....

And then find out we couldnt keep them all anyway, and that Boyd is still around somehow.

It is on the Coach for not having backbone to ditch those over paid passengers in the side. We all know exactly who they are. I understand the stupid contracts under one WB have also screwed us royal but what is going on at BHQ and on the field is a 2020 issue that can only be fixed by bringing people into office on Monday and saying there is 60% of your contract paid out today take it and leave or sit out for 18 months.

Here we go. The great man is ready to go behind the mic

Is this any of you lads?

If we didn’t replace Lodge because we were out of interchanges then I apologise and withdraw my critique.

I submit an alternative critique that we unnecessarily replaced our exuberant and clearly talented young fullback with Isaako for no reason with 15 mins to go which resulted in us having no interchanges left.

The stats guy must have had some stat that said that the change had to be made at that stage of the game due to some sports science reasoning

On the Lodge thing...there were still 4/5 interchanges left at that time...yeah.

He sounds clueless.

Which is apt because generally someone who is clueless will also sound it.

Fifita should walk into the office and say I’ll resign if the coach goes 😉 I’m pretty confident his not going anywhere . They have plenty of funds for him once that dinosaur in the centre’s reports to the nursing home at the end of the year
For everyone who didn’t watch the game, here’s a reminder the when Lodge went off injured, we failed the replace him and voluntarily played with 12 men for almost 10 minutes of game time. Then when Oates got binned, Lodge still hadn’t been replaced and we played with 11 men.
This is not a joke or a meme, it actually happened.

edit: some people are pointing out we may have been out of interchanges. If that is the case we shouldn’t have wasted our last interchange on hooking Niu for Isaako for no reason with 15 mins to go
Deardon was the last interchange. Lodge got injured afterwards. Instead of limping off he should have held his head and gone the old HIA con.

Luke, Niu, TPJ, Haas, Glenn, Herbie Kennedy, and Coates were the only players who played at an average or above level. Milf, Boyd, Oates, Croft, Isaako were absolutely trash.
TPJ was shit.
It's the little things and effort off the ball to look for not the odd big effort run.
Hes on 700k and is worth 350k at most

I've said all I have to say about this fekkin schmozzle. Siebold is not a coaches' arsehole, the team had plenty of ball this game but thy just had no game plan and no structure to follow. Boyd, and Oates and Milf are deadset kidding if they think that is a performance worthy of the Broncos jersey.

Lexy went really well and tried his heart out. TPJ was so quiet tonight it's obvious he's just too scared to turn the aggression on. I was glad Lodge went off as he was a passenger all night. Croft tried but he was just a few metres short of pace and a few ideas short of what to do. Niu did nothing as far as I could see to warrent the acclaim he's been getting.

Luke went well and did not look he needed a rest. In fact he was prolly one of our most potent in attack when we had the ball. If he wanted to get Tommy on he should have dragged Milf or Croft, but again Siebs unwillingness to change a plan to suit the situation was glaringly apparent.

Why he even had Isaako on the bench is still a total mystery, but to replace Niu with him for no reason and waste an interchange was just plain stupid.

The Broncos can spin this anyway they like, but the fact of the matter is we are a rudderless team drifting in open water with no hope of a recovery. Burn the boats? More like roast the pretend coach. His next good footy idea will be his first. That was our season gone tonight and it's obvious the boys can't stand a bar of the fool. If he's deadset serious he needs to shut the **** up, stop waffling verbal diahorrea to the press and learn how to coach.

Never felt so bereft of hope for my club. Has to be the lowest day of our history (so far this year).

The question is who do we run with if not siebolds? And surely that means those that have wasted 2 years of everyone's time appointing him must be accountable too.
This game is getting depressing to be a fan of since the resumption.
I hoped a young team, full of skill, with some older heads to guide them might succeed but we have achieved nothing.
We still have some great young prospects, but they dearly need some direction and they clearly aren't getting any.
We need to make defence our number one goal from here until the end of the season. A solid defence will keep us in the contest. Everything else is just icing on the cake. Ive seen time and again ordinary teams beat more skillful attacking sides with shear weight of possession.
We allow ourselves to be worn down, and inevitably get beaten out wide on the first foray in our twenty.
As for our abysmal handling of interchange? How does the coach expect this team to compete like that? If the coach is that clueless, how do we expect the players to perform?
We need to look at every ordinary point scored against us and start building to make sure this hellhole of a season isn't repeated.
After all, it's not like we are getting beaten 8 nil by the titans. Previous seasons we could walked in tries against them and laughed off their attack.

so we can confirm that we had interchanges left and Harvard SuperCoach couldn’t count to 13 EVEN WITH an asian stats huh next to him to help him ?

I'm pretty sure on commentary they said Dearden was interchange 9. That means by the time he came on, there were still three left. Niu was 8 I believe. And what coach would be at the stage Lodge went off (which was 15-20 to go) and have no interchanges left anyway? (Don't answer that!)

Toovey with Hook as assistant or vice versa.
