NRLW POST GAME [Round 8, 2025] Broncos vs Knights

Pretty big gap between the top two and the rest based on that performance.

Roosters had a solid win against the knights last week.

Cowboys could be third at the end of the round but they haven't played us or the Roosters yet.

Anyway, looking forward to the Dogs game at Langlands.

Another solid performance, though the Knights were pretty bad.

If we want to win this year, we need to be as consistent as possible in defence and ball control because we know we can score from anywhere at any time. Completion and tackle efficiency under 80% for this game and we still put 40+ on

Shalom is exceptional, and could’ve been that spark we needed in that semi vs Cronulla last year. Most metres beating Robbo in total and post-contact in only 48 minutes is crazy

Upton looks to be constantly managing knocks but then makes a 60m break beating two tackles a minute later - I don’t know how she does it.

Romy is so close to kicking 75-80% but perhaps playing 70 and the amount of work she does is taking that bit of energy and focus out of her and that’s why she’s kicking below 70% on average. Not an issue at the moment but it may be a problem in a tight game

I’ll need to rewatch to give my full thoughts

Tamika continues to be the best player in the comp... I lost interest when she left and NSW glazed over her like Newcastle had picked up a steal that no one else could see.

Glad she's back in Brissie and I'm happily watching them go around again... here's hoping they can kill the curse and bring a prem back home

I find it difficult to stay invested in the women's game tbh, with players moving clubs every year it seems like. Maybe once they stop bringing new teams into the comp the teams will stabilise a bit more?

Anyway, amazing win by the girls today...just put the foot down and the Knights simply couldn't hold them. A little like the men's game actually. So much class in the Broncos NRLW and they seem extremely well-coached, Prince and his crew seem to be doing a fantastic job.

Finals secured.

We need to fix our starts and be more consistent across the 70 minutes if we want any chance of winning the premiership this year.

We have the all of the ingredients needed, we have the players, we have the attack, but we have a tendency to make life difficult for ourselves with our discipline which leads to more tackles and our defence suffers for it.

It’s common of a new, growing competition that is trying to become professional.

For a start you have so many different groups of players over the past 8 seasons: the old guard that are almost all retired now, players that could be effective early but the game has passed them by, cross-code hoppers (temporarily and permanent), NSW and QLD Cup promoted players, and highly touted rookies.

Then you have expansion of 2 teams, 4 teams and 2 teams every other year since 2021 and player turnover is expectedly high.

Sometimes you have to put a little time into getting to know the players to enjoy whats going on. having said that I haven’t really paid too much attention to a lot of the new players because there’s so many and I haven’t had the time.

2028 will be another big year with a new player CBA, TV rights deal, and presumably more teams

Sauaso Grade 2 Dangerous Contact. 1 week.

That's a joke.

Does that cost her rookie of the year? Not sure if suspensions affect that stuff anymore

Only if she receives a two or more game ban.

One game ban is a 6 point deduction so that's still a big hit.
