I’m quietly confident. I don’t rust Perham at fullback but I didn’t trust Arthars either. At least Perham isn’t injured and surely he has a point to prove. The bench is awful and we have a banged up middle but if they can hold their own, our backs still have points in them.

Going off nothing but a biased fading memory of last game where we safer at the end with Perham? Arthars hasn’t been able to catch a cold, but I can’t really recall any high kicks going Perhams way.

The only team who has scored less points than the dogs this season is the woeful dragons.

All we need to do is keep them to their season average of under 20 points, Defence is more culture and fitness than god given talent, it should be the one thing that holds up no matter who’s out.

Despite our outs, we have 3/4 of a Premiership winning spine, and Reyno seems to have his long kicking game back at its best. Our edges are at full strength (though carrying injuries).

We still have 18-20 points in us. Just need to defend

Game Day!!

I am looking forward to Semu tonight, he's really improved this year and Bears attack a lot off his standing PTB, teams are finding it really hard to get him on the ground and off that Hamilton and Rogers have been going to work. He's become smarter, at Souths 24-25 it was just straight up and down. Now he's learnt who to run at and why.

His running impact is now greater, Bulldogs wouldn't have seen a lot of him so I am hoping he can come on and have some good runs and get some of those beautiful plays the balls and there might be a try wider out because of it.

His defence has been outstanding with the Bears. He hasn't missed a tackle since round one.

24-25's form wasn't NRL standard but this year he is earned his call up.

Coming this fall, the feel good movie of the year - The Incredible Shrinking Centre. He's an ageing halfback everyone thinks is washed up. And he's an overly aggressive centre who doesn't know how to sell an escort. But together, something something Kotoni is small now.

Only in theatres.

Hayze has really made his strength this year doing less- nothing out the back minimal passing. It's like he's been inspired by Hunt. He's done an excellent job of not making mistakes and making sure the Magpies start the set on the 30m.

If he takes ground off Burton and gets sets started, then that will do. I thought he did well last week but tonight is going to be 80 minutes not 25.

If he brings his Cup average this year of 165m a game, no missed tackles and doesn't drop anything I say job done.

I have been impressed with his "Edwards" like start to the season, it's not how I remember him at the Dogs, Warriors or Redcliffe.

My concern with Perham is that he has shown a tendency in the trials and last week to let the ball bounce instead of catching it. If he does go up for it though, I have more confidence in him than Arthars.

I'm still quietly confident tonight.

A little concerned about Staggs and Arthars being cleared to play. I hope it wasn't just out of sheer desperation and both of them are playing busted

Arthars not playing I thought?
