POST GAME [Round 8, 2026] - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Kevvie seems happy for the boys in the squad but definitely salty now that he slowly realizes there run of bad form was largely due to his poor processes, tactics and coaching.

I didn’t watch this game so can’t comment on it, but just generally Galvin isn’t necessarily bad, but he’s also not good.

He seems to have convinced a small group that he’s good because he’s a young, on-the-ball classic 7 who constantly wants possession and to have control at all times to dictate. That’s very rare nowadays, especially for a young half.

But that’s only half the equation, it’s good to constantly want the ball and step up in pressure moments but you need to actually do something with it too.

These teams structure their entire attack around everything running through Galvin, which is what he wants and would be great if he was some exceptional talent, but he’s just not. He’s average at best.

Means that the entire attacking structure is routed through a lame duck who can’t do anything with all the ball he’s being given. The overhype is insane.
And therein lies the problem, he has been hyped to a level he cant live up to, at least not yet.
I see some good footy in the kid, he has a decent kicking game, runs decent lines, passes well and does all the basics just fine, but he is not this wonder kid that Gus made him out to be.

I feel a bit sorry for him to be honest. Its similar to the pressure Walsh faces except Walsh actually lives up to the hype.

Great win - especially in that first half!

That's some premiership level defence.

Newbies really stood up - Carrigan, Walsh, Hass, Hunt, etc. Might not make it back in the team.
Rogers is doing what we expected from Hunt... sharing some minutes at hooker and playing in the middle... dare I say he's doing it better than what Hunt was at the start of the year.

Obviously Hunt provides brilliant cover for the halves, but Rogers has been great as a Bhunt replacement... he might earn himself a contract extension

Any news on Piaks?

What a ****ing win though, sat on the couch for a good 10 minutes just enjoying that.

Good young crop coming through, everyone had us written off and we would have kept them to 6 or less had we not had a pretty unlucky sinbin - wasn't a lot in that hit.

Our defense was top tier, frankly, it's the best it's looked in 2 seasons.

Lots of positives. Great to Semu debut well. Perham safer than a bank vault. Willison showing once again how good he is with big minutes.

Jetski is still rubbish. Didn't dent the line, fell off tackles in defense.
Rogers isn't a hooker.
Jetski made 42 tackles with zero misses in 50 minutes..
Yes Rogers isn't a hooker, that's why he plays 6 in cup

For the first time in a while, I felt like I actually watched a game of rugby league. Still a couple too many 6 agains, but such a better game than what we have been getting served up lately. Well done ref and well done boys. Top shelf effort.

Whatever Madge is doing is clearly working................I hope it continues.

With Payne leaving we need to lock up Willison, this bloke could be special.

*Edit* Shout out to the ref, he did pretty well tonight and let the teams go at it...................and thats something I haven't been able to say for a long time.
