Mariner would likely be in the Qld team if he was eligible.
Trying to think who we used last year and last couple years, but Cobbo has fallen off a cliff, Gagai is out, Val dropped out of the team last year, Murray is probably making the team this year, but I think he's been in and out?
Coates is injured until round 12 (I think), so he probably misses game 1 (2 weeks after he returns), but likely there for 2 and 3 (pending how he returns).
Backline probably looking like the below, but I'm sure I've missed someone:
1. Walsh
2. Murray Taulagi
3. Toia
4. Hammer
5. Coates (someone else for Game 1)
Khan-Periera is like what happens if you put all your ability into attack. The bloke cannot defend to save himself (more physically than out of position). He'd get found out instantly in Origin. If we want to go with a specialist winger, Khan-Periera has been in good try scoring form.
Otherwise someone like Purdue would probably be the most likely.
I think he's also poor under the high ball isn't he?Khan-Periera is like what happens if you put all your ability into attack. The bloke cannot defend to save himself. He'd get found out instantly in Origin.

Except Teo might be an assistant this yearHonestly none of our wingers are any good defensively, especially Coates but he’s the incumbent.
Defence can be worked on, though. Especially when you’re in a better defensive system like QLD have.
Yeah, Teo walking out has aged like milk for his coaching stocks.Except Teo might be an assistant this year![]()
It’s a tad embarrassing when you don’t get replaced and your team actually improves.Yeah, Teo walking out has aged like milk for his coaching stocks.
True, but I'd probably go with Savage over him. You get all the scoring ability, but on a bigger body to handle the origin arena.Honestly none of our wingers are any good defensively, especially Coates but he’s the incumbent.

oh ffs. **** this season man for injuries. Stupid V'landyball nonsense. Is he available? I thought he was injured for the first game. Haven’t paid much attention to the raiders.
If he’s available, absolutely I would pick him over everyone else. Also provides a bit of extra cover in the backline.
I think officially it's Ballin, but Madge is a defensive coach so I daresay he's keeping a close eye on it... especially if it was a disagreement between him and Teo on how it was operating.. you'd think they're currently defending how Madge wants them to defend, but Ballin would be doing a lot of video work and analysisDo we know who replaced Te'o as defensive coach yet?
Whoever they are, they deserve a beer. Or three.
I mean if he wants to do Origin without Walsh and Carrigan as well, he can be our guest. Since its not such a big deal.Slater making out missing double digits amounts of players isn't such a big deal.
