Forgot about Rogers. I can get behind that.

Might need to replace all of Walsh, Madden, Mam and Reynolds.

In which case you’d have to do this surely:

1. Sailor
6. Walters
7. Rogers
9. Smoothy
14. Mozer

We might have a very makeshift spine next week, not ideal against the soon to be no name brand chickens.

Karapani drops a lot of balls- seven in six games and they're not under pressure either just kicks down field. He's in position but then straight in and out.

Broncos do eye checks in the pre-season maybe he was sick that day.

He’ll fit right in with the first grade side then.

Mam and Madden out.
Rogers is development. Will they want to elevate him? Probably not. In which case, Sailor.
Otherwise Walters. Please no. But in which case Mozer to bench.
Staggs, Cobbo to play.
Oates must be on the bench. Last night was a farce. Walsh needs cover.

1. Walsh
2. Mariner
3. Staggs
4. Cobbo
5. Arthars
6. Rogers/Sailor
7. Reynolds
8. Jensen
9. Walters
10. Haas
11. Piakura
12. Riki
13. Carrigan

14. Smoothy
15. Willison
16. Hetherington

They've supposedly changed the rules around this.

Development player contracts replaced by “Supplementary list”. $650,000 cap for at least four, maximum six players, paid $80,000, can play from Round 1. Bonus of $3,000 for any NRL game.

Which lines up with this:

Replacement of the NRL Development List with the NRL Supplementary List, where Supplementary List players will be entitled to $80,000 p.a.
Source

It appears the restriction applies to players on training contracts (eg. Josh Patston, Ethan O'Neil)

In practice we've seen players like Poasa Faamausilli and Jacob Gagai preferred over players on NRL contracts. It seems that the supplementary player list is just a different income bracket.

They really need to address Walsh's cramping issue, we can't afford in a finals game for him to be cramping up and unable to play.
What Walsh really needs to address is his passing game. We're bombing too many tries. Pretty sure most of his handling errors get marked against the receiver.

In that case, who's your 6?

Yeah he’s thrown a few duds this year.
I think sometimes he's passing a bit too hard, too high, and behind the man, but that's something he needs to fine tune with his outside backs at training.

I'm not overly fussed but I'd go with the specialist, Rogers.
I wouldn't mind to see Sailor get a proper shot there, but I think if Kevvie has designs on him being a legitimate utility he should ask Hunt to trial switch him into the halves at Souths. He's looked a bit rudderless in his last two outings.

If starting Billy at 6 meant Mozer would get his debut with the full strength squad, I could live with that. But **** Billy looks lost when he gets the ball in open space. And slow. He was pretty solid when he replaced Reynolds, but I think his repertoire is limited to kick or pass. We could use a bit more than that against the Roosters.

This is not a comment on the rightness of wrongness of Sailor at 6 but given how much Kevvie values defense (and rightly so), that would definitely work against Sailor being put there.

Rogers
Walters
Inanimate carbon rod
Sailor

Sailor is a liability in defence, one of the worst I’ve seen in a while we cannot afford that against a side like the roosters especially when we have reliable alternatives

Five-eighth for five-eighth

You don't have to promote him.

You would have to promote or get permission for Train and Trial players.

Dolphins got permission to use Fuller and Hubner from outside.

It's just a lack of composure. He's shown he can do but sometimes it's all a bit of a blur for Reece rather than taking the moment to summarise and execute. He'll come good but not for a while yet.

Rogers' try yesterday was beautiful, He changes the Bears and they are a 10 point better side- not just because of his goal kicking.

24-4 at half time, which seems pretty safe but PNG can score three quick tries and be back.

Two minutes into the half, Bears repeat set and just keep screwing the Hunters to the wall ready to shoot.

Hamilton, first receiver looks like he may go short to Murray, which gets the Hunters to go to Murray- out the back to Rogers- Rogers through the gap left by the Hunters middle who went to Murray.

Runs 25m steps back inside the fullback Wabo and scores under the posts.
