That Dogs record in Townsville surprises me.

Round 2 2005, the game where Webb scored a memorable long distance try was the first time they beat them.

Even so, the Dogs recent record is still quite strong so certainly something to be mindful of.

I'm with you, but I doubt he's ever going to return to form, much less the lightning in a bottle of 2012.

His ankle seems to be a persistent issue. Top speed notwithstanding, he used to be able to turn on a dime, even in full flight. So instrumental to his game, without that footwork he's easy pickings for a stout defender.

In the other game tonight we've got the Roosters taking on the Tigers.

For Taylor, it must be an interesting assignment given he spent so much time at Easts. Surely he has some insight to them, whether or not it translates and his young cubs can do anything with that information is another story.

Personally, I don't think they're up to the task and believe the Roosters will snap their four game losing streak.

Why?

Because of two players Aidan Guerra and Mitchell Aubusson.

The Roosters are the best exponents of the fringe play in the game and they've missed these two players tremendously in the past few weeks. I believe with them on the field, they've got certifiable weapons and a base for the likes of RTS and Jennings to work their magic.

The only way I can see my prediction being wrong is if Tedesco has a blinder. I thought young James had a mixed afternoon at Wagga Wagga but he showed some great signs and maybe close to nabbing a wing spot for the Blues given the absence of Morris and Mansour. A good performance tonight may make him too irrisitible and may cause Laurie to go with him over an Alex Johnston or Daniel Tupou.

Also interested to see how Woods goes. I haven't quite got a read on him just yet. Apart of me wants to say he's overrated especially how he's perceived as the form player of the competition but then his numbers have been fantastic and I've got to say he was head and shoulders the best prop for the Kangaroos. Had he had the same support as the Kiwi forwards did, maybe it would have shown up but we'll get a better idea tonight.

Just on that Trans-Tasman Test....

If you want to talk about differences, just look at the numbers for the wingers. Josh Dugan and Alex Johnston were completely and utterly outplayed by their opposites, to the point where they were essentially dwarfed. For all this doom and gloom, if Australia pick two better wings, it will go a long way.
