Good win for the Eels and now I'm kicking myself for not backing them. As I was writing my expectations for tonight's games, I sold myself on the Eels beating the Cowboys but I'm very superstitious about changing tips and will only do it in special cases. Never the less, they were just too much for the Cowboys and when the opportunities arose they took them with both hands. It was good to see Jennings involve himself some more. He was often the missing man for them last year, but his plays from dummy half were vital and opened the game up for Parra. There could be something to that win for Parra, but watching the game, I couldn't help but notice how poor the Cows were. Whenever Taumalolo was off the field, they had absolutely no go forward, their backs were horrid and Morgan cannot get it together. It's pretty sad when your best player by far is a prop forward moonlighting as a halfback, good grief. While it was a tough night for the guy, I thought Ponga did some really courageous things out on the footy field. One play really impressed me where he was able to make the cover tackle on Norman, race back to his in-goal and beat Radradra with one of the most ridiculous steps of 2017. There's a lot of Benji Marshall about Kalyn and just the way he's able to combine his elusiveness with speed. As long as he doesn't break in two, he could become some player. Rep round cannot come soon enough for the Cowboys. JT and Fensom should be back to bolster their side, with Granville not too far away. You'd have to imagine they'll have to win that in order to keep in touch with the top 4, albeit, 2017 has looked like one colossal write off so far for the Cows.
