Round 9 - Sharks vs Broncos

We've been plodding along for the last few weeks and have won unconvincingly. This probably got the boys complacent and this was waiting to happen

that is the only good thing about this that its happening now and not in finals. this is sharks peak they will never play better half then that. and this is our worst. i think the 2 weeks to stew over it will be good for the boys im expecting them to come out hungry in a fortnights time

Ese Ese is a big boppa, give him some decent minutes in the second half and tell him to just run like a freak

At least we're copping our medicine early in the season. This is the absolutely peak for the Sharks - everything is going right for them.

Yeah this. Real fuckin' hard to watch today but it's hardly panic stations. We'll bounce back. Remember most of us tipped a loss today? I doubt many were expecting this, but it is what it is. Hopefully they can salvage a bit of respect in the second half because that was deadset atrocious. We looked as tired as Souffs the other night. Sharkies by 40 or so, with the full bounce of the ball and the refs in their pocket.

As far as covering injury to major players, our defence is a bit of cause for concern - but for mine it's more symptomatic of our attitude today, the boys just haven't shown up to play for whatever reason. I hope it's not an infighting thing between the lads because that could derail our season real fucking quick. Having said that, Blair is a beast for us as our dominant front-rower, and Macca is our mainstay in the middle with his workrate (where's the Macca haters today btw???) So we were always going to struggle against the big Sharks side with those two out.

Gallen grubbing it up as usual, and there's any amount of crap in the ruck. But clearly the refs have put the whistle away today, that's got to be about the fewest penalties in a half so far this year. But it's no excuse - we're shit today, end of story. Wakeup call for the boys - no longer top of the table (and not deserving of it either after this shit).

Anyone who didn't expect this result was living in hope. Everything that could go well for the Sharks has gone well. This is the afternoon that keeps the Broncos humble and defines the rest of the season. We are in for a rough trot over the next 8-10 weeks.

At least this game confirms that I can take another NQ premiership if we're knocked out early. The love in from the commentators is sickening.

We need to salvage some pride here. Best we can hope for is we win the second half. Ignore the scoreboard now.
That's about the extent of it.

We've got the talent to fight back from a deficit but 22 points is a long way. We'd need everything to go our way this second half, which I can't see happening with their pack rolling through us.

Hoping Milf and Hunt can get something going on, at least make it a respectable contest.

Long term we're fine. Sharks did their homework and came out swinging. Some of our efforts have been soft but they've had us on the back foot the entire time. We'll learn from this.

@Cult3

Now do you understand why some of us were optimistic about this game and wary of the Sharks?

After watching them beat and lose to a bunch of shit teams I didn't think they were that good Roosterman. They are also looking very flukey against us today and we are on the receiving end of some ridiculous calls. We are giving them the quickest play the balls I have ever seen and it's because of the usual home crowd penalties that the teams whose fans constantly boo usually get.

Hopefully we get some catch up penalties and the refs penalize them for being offside, elbowing us in the face and Gallen throwing 20 consecutive punches on whoever tackles him. He must be trained in "UFC" because his ground game is good.. What a **** head.

to be fair its the sharks this year that are the media darlings. they do no wrong and get alot of 50-50 calls there way this year. just like the cows before them and the bunnies before that.

Wow Milford does not look interested.

1 down, 5 to go.

at least oats is still a try scoring freak

Good start but we need to keep this up

Can't remember the last time we scored off a speculative kick to the corner. Peter Wallace Special.

Just a reminder that we've lost from the Sharks' position before.

I'm calling out hunt. This is his game to really make a name for himself.
