Rugby League Internationals

At least he didn't coach a team of quality first graders and internationals to concede 28 points unanswered to a team where most of their players have no nrl experience. How embarassing.

I dunno, until we play again seibolds last game will be a 58-0 score line which is kinda bad

Bennett hasn't got a win with the lions and let PNG score 28 unanswered points lol. He's past it. That's pathetic.

It will happen. Especially once Seibold doesn't have bennetts butt boiz in the team.

To be fair, most of the Lions don't have NRL experience either. And the ones that do are over the hill or broken. The Super League is a 3rd rate comp. I watch it regularly. You know this but you're pushing the always fun agenda that Bennett is a bad coach, which is entirely untrue. Bellamy sucked as a rep coach too. If you watched International footy often, you'd realize how hard it is to implement anything over such a short period. Shit, according to our 2019 season it's even difficult to implement anything in 26 games.

Obviously Bennett should step down, in fact he should never have had the job in the first place. But this says more about the quality of the English comp and overrated players like Graham and Hodgson than the coach. Of course, people will see this as me supporting Bennett but he hasn't done a good job, but nobody could. Do you think Seibold would have done a better job? You did, after all, make this another Bennett VS Seibold comparison by bringing him up.

Mate they’ve had two cracks each with each others squads and Bennett is 4-0. It’s not a question who is better. Not really relevant anymore tho. Wayne’s had a shocker with England/GB. Spread himself too thin perhaps.

The Super league may be 3rd rate, but calling Hodgson, Whitehead and Bateman "over the hill or broken" is bullshit.

And all that would actually matter if they lost to someone other than PN-fucking-G.

Hodgson is overrated in my opinion. Very serviceable hooker but the hype is too much. He's a flat track bully at the best of times. The other two are great, so I obviously meant most of them are over the hill and broken. Yeah, weird that these players are so good yet couldn't beat PN-fucking-G.

Maybe it was the coaching ;)

And by "most of them" you obviously mean just George/Tom (no idea which one is which) Burgess, because there was nobody else.

Yeah! I actually found a direct quite from Bennett at training. "Hey guys, you know all the good stuff you do with NRL quality players every week? Well forget that and play terribly with these 3rd rate players from England"

If the quality of the GB side is that poor maybe it is time to relegate them to a tier 2 nation and promote Tonga?

You'd think the greatest coach of all time could get 3rd rate players from England to beat 4th rate players from a 3rd world shithole.

See this is where the argument gets dumb. I've already said he should have done a better job as coach. Next.

Absolutely. A team with like 4 current NRL level players isn't on the same level as a team with 17 of them.

Ah right. Can't be wrong if you take every position at once.

That's most likely Bennett's career as England coach. I thought he did a great job at refining their skill-set and making them a more cohesive side, but the talent just wasn't there. He either had to get creative with the eligibility rules or experiment with players just to give the side a fighting chance.

The worst thing England can do is point fingers after the PNG game. They shouldn't view it as rock bottom. If anything they should consider it valuable experience and take the lessons they learned in defeat to make themselves better players. It should also serve as inspiration for any young English player that spots are wide open and if they can work hard and improve their game, they could forge a career in International Footy.

We’d be top 4 guaranteed if you put Hodgson in our side.
