Salary cap increases.

Hey all.

Couldn't see a thread about this one. I read in the news today that the clubs had all agreed to a 100k increase to the cap, plus increases to both the marquee and long serving players concessions.

Any gurus have any opinions as to how much this will help the broncos as opposed to other clubs?

Well guys like Lockyer will be able to have more of their contract not included in the full cap while looking forward guys like Thaiday, Parker and Kenny will either now or soon be able to have parts of their contract put more in the veterans concessions. All in all while I hate the cap I think this is a step in the right direction for the NRL nothing worse then seeing legends of the game like Steve Menzies leave after so much service to his club simply because they didn't have this sort of facility available to them.

this was announced 6 weeks ago, and apparently the loosing of the 3rd party provision in the cap is one of the reasons we are in a position to sign Inglis
