Sadly it’s the same old same old.

Poor decisions by Kennar in defense early on and Dearden and Issako took poor attacking options when they had the ball in the 2nd half.

Our forwards were fucking fantastic, it’s what we have expected from this lot for ages.

Brisbane played like they were possessed. Panthers clearly the better team on paper and well seasoned. The Broncos out enthused them. The signs are all there. Kevin thought we are behind schedule but i think in a rebuild this big, we are doing pretty good. The signs in the other games have been there too. 25 minutes against the all conquering storms. A number of minutes against Souths. If we had Nathan Cleary, we won that easily. Let's spend the money on the spine!! Would we be better of letting go of Staggs to spend it on the spine?

Isaako offers nothing to the team besides kicking conversion goals. Does not link with the halves, does not support line breakers and does not create plays. Can't bat, can't bowl.

No. That would have seen us get flogged.

But, we cannot execute under pressure or when we need to and those aren’t the same thing... We had plenty of effort for a change tonight and I enjoyed watching us for the first time in a long time. My missus was stunned when I jumped out of my seat when TPJ scored down the right side... Usually it’s sullen silence or me going off / ranting at our clubs failings...

But. It was one game and we still failed to execute.

This is what I expected when Kevvie was put in charge. Plenty of misses, but at least a team that looks like it actually gives a shit and that would be a hell of an improvement on where we have been...

Hopefully the boys keep going in this manner and we start getting some decent signings that give us some actual qualitative improvement...

We have to be good enough against all teams for the standards set by KW and his team. I thought he was all too aware of reading too much into the result and that came through in the presser. I'll bet he's pleased to see that effort and will be expecting that level every week. I think we'll be up for it .
