Dumb move from Kearney IMO. Hasn't been that bad this year and I fail to see how it's the halfbacks fault that the Parra forward pack in underperforming.

Sandow got hooked by Kearney on the weekend. i haven't seen it before where a team is down by 6 with about 10 mins to go and a coach hooks their halfback. thats the time you really need your halfback to stand up and be counted ... hard to do from the bench.

I'm not a fan of the bloke, who imo has approximately the IQ of a clock radio, but Sandow came off with a shoulder injury...

Agreed. his performance with Parramatta is enough evidence of that, but the abysmal performance of NZ in last year's Four Nations underlined it. He had a great squad with the Kiwis (albeit with a few injuries) and for them to lose to England? Disgraceful.

NZ were poor in last years four nations because they were more interested in being grubs and thugs than playing footy. possibly Kearneys influence from his time in Melbourne.

Yep, he has more than enough to be competitive. And some of his decisions are just plain weird. I mean, benching Mannah? WTF? The dude is the best prop they have by far and he starts from the bench and gets about 35-40mins per game. Only got 30 on the weekend! McGuire gets more and he's only the #3 prop.

Fox Sports are reporting that Sandow has been training with Wentworthville Magpies and will play for them this week despite being named for the Eels on Tuesday.

I don't want to make a big call early, but considering the money he's getting, could this be the worst buy in the history of Rugby League?

Completely agree Rock. Sandow is horribly inconsistent but that's his style and he's been their best player in a couple of games. Kearney is dead set hopeless.

That said, he would be better off dumping the other sixteen guys too. At least that way they would only forfeit and not take a colossal hit to their for and against.
