Shane Tronc on track to stay a Bronco

Tronc would be good to have but I don't think he'd be an automatic selection each week.

Kenny and Hannant in the starting side and then Dodds, Anderson and Tronc fighting it out for two spots on the bench. Not to mention guys like Lui and McGuire who will hopefully be pressing for selection over the off season.

Thats kinda my point we have like 5 young props who next season will be a year older and better for it. I'd prefer to lose Tronc than any of the young blokes.

There needs to be a balance.

You can't underestimate how helpful Tronc's experience is to the side and to the younger guys coming through.

Yes, but Hannant more than makes up for Tronc's experience, plus he adds actual ability.

Tronc is going to get better for Brisbane. People forget how consistently good he was for the Cows. Tronc, Kenny and Hannant are a very very good top 3 to have, backed up by Andersen, Dodds and whoever.

I see McGuire's future as more of a Watmough type player. He needs to drop some kilos and get more mobile/agile. I know he's young but so far as a prop he looks out of place.

For about 2 of his 8 seasons. He was horrible the rest.

My Cowboys mates cried tears of blood when they lost Tronc.

I was up there for the Broncos game last season (in a corporate box :D ) and the people up there in the crowd were livid at the fact they were going to lose Tronc and keep Carl Webb

i think it is likely Sims won't be re-signed but i do hope his Brother Tariq stays
I would sign Sims just to keep the brother. He and Gillett are the best forward prospects I've seen in a while.

Man i watched his brother play in the 20's on the weekend. God he was by far the best player on the park. Big hits, ran the ball hard. Going to be a very very very good player icon_thumbs_u icon_thumbs_u

Same here.

Only seen the one performance from Tariq, but if that's any indication of the work he puts in each week then he's definitely going to be a keeper.

I've seen him play quite a few times, and although he did have a blinder on Saturday, he generally puts on good efforts and always sets the tone with his hits.

At the moment, sure. I don't know whether I'd persist with him next season with Hannant coming to the club. That's really what I'm saying.

If there is room in the cap (and it may not need a significant amount) offer him another one year contract and put the incentive on him to keep earning a contract.

Seen him play a few times, he's got the goods. Big and strong, good athletic build for a prop.

How long is Gillett signed up for?

Did I read somewhere he re-signed for a further 2 years? So that'd make it to end of 2012.

that was dodds mate, Gillett was signed for 2 years from the start of this year but he would be due a significant upgrade since i dont think he was in the top 25.
