Part of me thinks if he’s stood down allowing us to bring back Benny we are a better chance at the chip this year.
We will have a better long term future if Ezra is able to get right and play on. Basically just let us get Hunt back for penny’s on the dollar please NRL.

What drugs do you think he was on?

Be interesting to see how the narrative might change it it turns out to be painkillers. Might explain why he lost focus.

Cocaine...... (which tbh, doesn't line up with what appears to be now, an ill considered joke I made earlier) but none the less,
Yes.... opioids could certainly explain careering into oncoming traffic.

You keep labouring under the presumption that him returning a positive drug test relates to the accident. I don't know any more about this case than you do, but I'd be surprised if it does. He wasn't reported to be drinking. That's far worse than any drug I know of. Even LSD.

You're more likely to veer across the road because you're not paying attention. More likely he was tired or looking at his phone. Or playing with the radio. Or whatever. Not paying attention. We don't know.

You don't get charged for any of those. Well, only if the cops catch you looking at your phone. Which they didn't.

So in reality there are 3 aspects to this case:

1. Driving without a licence
2. Returning a positive test for an undisclosed drug.
3. Having a prang.
4. Was he driving recklessly?

The courts are chocked with 1 & 2 every day. It's not newsworthy unless the perp is famous.

The prang is an accident. He'll get sued for damages. And because of 1 & 2, he'll probably have to foot the bill himself. Unless @Nashy is right and the car is covered, not the driver. I'm not sure I'm convinced about that one.

We have yet to hear why he veered across the road, but no doubt his lawyers will be trying to take 4 off the table.

When I pointed this out last week I was told no one cared .

Pain killers aren`t on the road side test .
I have been ranting about that at least 27 times ! The kind of drugs that make people fall asleep at the wheel [opiods and barbituates] aren`t even on the test .

But he`s a druggie ! Sack him . Lots of NRL players are opiod addicts . But they are legal . So they are all good ...

I heard Brian Flecther say he heard a rumour it was cannabis which has no test for impairment , just the presence in the saliva . And can be detected long after the effects have ceased .
My money is on using the phone while driving .

Not too sure about that. Where I work has random drug tests and more than a few boys were peaking because they had a joint the night before. They all came back negative.
Apparently follicle testing for cannibas will show if you've been using in the previous 6 weeks but the saliva tests don't show up even the next day.

Everyone takes coke these days, especially in TV and politics. It's not exactly great for you, and opens you up to risk from fentanyl, but the fuss over it is completely hypocritical. That said, I wouldn't want my elite athletes taking anything that might impair their ability to be top of the game mid season.

Pain killers mixed with alcohol are the worst of the lot. I use to sometimes take codeine before going out to get rid of a mild headache, and then drink on top. It took me years to correlate how much they interacted. I'm talking double vision.

A lot of athletes get hooked on opiates they get prescribed for pain. Slippery slope.

Peaking? On weed?

Ok mate 🤣

Not true .
One joint may be gone from the system in one day. Regular user may be positive days after . That is what I am saying THC can be in your system and detected long after the effects have worn off . The person is not impaired but they get sanctioned none the less .
Your work and the police test may not be the same ?

Peaking as in shitting themselves, dick

Once upon peaking referred to the high point of a hallucinogenic experience .
Obviously the meaning has changed over time .

I understand both . Context is a beautiful thang .

Media reporting Hunts return to Broncos has gone cold.

What I find interesting with Mam, is there is still no new information. Normally you'd take no information is good information, but I don't know in this circumstance.

He's going to the Roosters, right? I don't think we've ever been in the race. We're broke.

Yeah that's the news getting around. I didn't think we had a change and would need no one else to be chasing him. But the Roosters, dang.

Everyone is waiting on the test results.

Unsure how long it's been since it occurred, but I think it was flagged it could take 5 weeks or so, especially if a forensic examination is required to determine if the level was sufficient to impare his driving.

Once that is done then they have to charge Ezra... and then a court date is scheduled.

If it comes back that the drugs were barely doing anything and potentially from days earlier he might not get charged with much, plead guilty and then cop his suspension from NRL.

If it comes back that he was high as a kite he might get harsher charges, plead not guilty and take it to court... at which point no fault stand down could come into play, because the NRL and Broncos cant hand down a punishment until he's found guilty or not and pleading not guilty to take it to court can take ages to sort out
