Hahahahahaha.

The mother in the accident, who I fully suspected made up the broken hip injury for her daughter, has gone on 9 news again tonight and claimed that she herself has now been diagnosed with a broken AND dislocated tail bone from the accident. (She was sitting on her fat ass with her daughter next to her at home 48 hours after the accident)

Surely there's some legal action the club can take against her for flat out lying and making it sound significantly worse than it was.

Did the mother say the kid had a broken hip? Every interview i've seen said it was just a fracture. If the kid had a broken hip the charges for this idiot would be way more severe.

Wouldnt be difficult to disprove either claim anyway. The medical records will prove or disprove anything she is saying.

She will arrive at court wearing a neck brace for sure

Broken hip for her daughter.
Broken & dislocated tailbone for her.

Those are her claims, verbatim.

Both of them were discharged from hospital the day after the accident and were sitting on the couch showing the 9 news reporters their seatbelt burns.

Hairline fracture I would believe. They can be tiny. Was the word broken used?

The woman said her child suffered a fractured hip as a result of the collision and both are recovering from seatbelt burns.

Seems like she is exaggerating for a better payment.

Which could come back & bite her

Never seen that. Only seen the TV interviews where it said a fracture.

That does only say a fracture according to that article, which isnt the same as a break. A fracture is basically a crack, a break is what it says on the tin, its broken. You cant have a hairline break, but you can have a hairline fracture.

I've got no doubts they will exaggerate things for a payout, but at the same time, who are we to judge whats going on in their heads. People react to things differently, they could be suffering but who knows.

a Fracture technically is a break thus broken.

Asking my wife about it, technically, you are right, it is a break, but in a medical setting they wont call a minor fracture a break. If somebody has a broken hip for example like in this case, they will say its broken. They wont treat it the same as a fracture unless is severe, which this doesnt seem to be or she wouldnt have been out of hospital so quickly.

A fracture is a break mate. I reckon she is probably exaggerated but if it is fractured she technically isn’t lying that it is a break, it does sound more dramatic though.

@Jason Simmons @Browny

Would the police charge him with GBH if the kid did actually break a bone?

Well, i'll defer to my wife who is a clinical nurse. From what she tells me, if the bone is separated or fractured in more than one place , they treat it as a break. If its still together and reletivley minor, they treat it as a fracture even though if you want to be technical, a fracture is a break. But again, its not a one size fits all thing. Too many variables in this to actually say how minor or major the injury is.

She did say though she wouldnt have left hospital the next day if her hip was broken, you can if its a minor fracture. Thats the difference. I guess when the court case happens we might see just how bad it actually is. I'm leaning towards a hairline fracture.

Only did 1 semester of law, but GBH usually requires life-threatening or life-altering injuries. I'm surprised he hasn't been charged with 'actual bodily harm', unless of course the mum's claims are bullshit.

The whole thing stinks, I'd be stunned if either of her or her daughter have a broken bone.. this woman made absolutely zero complaint about this mysterious tailbone injury 48 hours after the accident (where she was naming every single physical ailment under the sun that she possibly could to make it sound as bad as possible, and also played the mental health card).. and now she's mysteriously at the doctors and being diagnosed with a broken AND dislocated tailbone weeks after the incident. Rightio..

Hopefully the Broncos do their due dilligence investigating her claims, if she's making them up, she shouldn't be paid a cent in any civil lawsuit.
