When we had the week off from a bye in rd 12, we came back and lost to Manly 36-6 in rd 13 the week after.

Then when we had the bye in rd 15, we came back in rd 16 to beat the sharks 34-28, but started the game well off the pace and didn't wake up until the 2nd half.

Then we had the bye in rd 20 and came back in rd 21 to lose to the eels.

Having a week off seems to mess with our focus and form, more so than other teams. In which case, 'should' we really be striving for top 4 to potentially beat the raiders and earn another week off?

It's a risk but if we can make the top 4 and somehow manage to beat the Raiders at GIO, the massive confidence boost that will give this side, I think we'll win the prelim and we'll be a genuine chance of winning the GF.

If we don't make the top 4, then the likely scenario is Roosters or Penrith at home week 1 whether we finish 5th or 6th. Both of those games would be extremely difficult to win. Finish 4th at least we get a second chance. Cowboys will be tough and Storm will be full strength after getting towelled tonight. If we fall short and our finals is short lived it will be because we aren't good enough.

If Raiders win this weekend, I don’t reckon CB will field a full strength grub fcuks Thursday week. It’s a moot point playing full strength team when the following weekend is vital. Though he single handedly ruined the game for the past 15+years, I don’t reckon he would stoop to the level just so that he could hinder our chances of making top 4 by fielding a team full of grub fcuks.
Either way, don’t care what he does as long as we don’t get to play them at their shithole ground. We shall gladly take them down in SHITney in October.

The Roosters are looking good but I go into any Roosters game feeling like we’re a chance of winning. We just seem to show up against them fairly regularly.

I think on our day we are capable of flogging pretty much any team in the top 8 accept Storm and Panthers. They’re just 2 teams whose style we can’t find a way to beat.

Yes we should. I’d even take losing week 1 and then getting a home final week 2 and build momentum.

Better than having to win 4 in a row from the bottom 4

Unless we win one of our last 2 we could finish 7, if losses are bad 8. We would be travelling to either Penrith or Roosters or even Warriors for those games. Tonight is a must win.

That loss to the eels is not looking as bad now. They have it done good games together. We got them at the wrong time with Moses back and we were close to a win.

Eels have been very unlucky this year. Eels with Moses are a top 8 and borderline top 4 side. On the other side of the coin, our loss to the Eels has been very costly as a win against them would have pretty much confirmed us a top 4 finish.

Agreed on the Eels. I think the Dragons, Rabbitohs, Many losses were the really costly ones. We were terrible in that patch.

Kind of feel like Bhunt being unable to make a 5m pass to Reyno for a field goal in front was the killer there

I disagree .
Ben Hunt choke wrecked that opportunity . But hitting the kick off too sweetly was the finisher .
